Looking at Daks strengths and weaknesses stated here I would have to say this is a spot on assessment. He still continues to show mechanical and footwork issues that showed up against the Eagles. He continues to throw into coverage like the end zone interception against the Eagles and he threw another one against the Browns that should have been. I'm concerned that the Coaching staff is being to protective of him they didn't let him throw the ball down field much in the Browns game which is a concern he must be having some confidence issues after that poor Eagles game. He seems to be regressing he not even looking for 1 on 1 opportunities on the outside to exploit. He's being baby sat if you ask me. Who better than the Browns to allow your young QB to open the offense up against ? But Kessler threw more passes down field than Dak. It's not looking good this coaching staff is not showing much confidence in him.

I've said for a while now that Dak is pretty much exactly as advertised, the Cowboys have just found an amazing ability to play to his strengths and totally avoid his weaknesses. Playing the weakest schedule in the league, and having an all-star team for most of the starting line up doesn't hurt either.
I would say that one thing that hasn't shown up for this particular report is that Dak has largely done pretty well throwing on the move... mostly to open targets, but the accuracy and velocity have been there.

The coaches are doing a very good job. They are utilizing Dak's strength. That strength is his mobility. Sure most of his targets are open. But that it takes skill to actually stand in the pocket poised and collected, and hit the open man before the rush gets to him. I think he has an uncanny ability to get the ball out just in time. While on the other hand, Romo would take almost an eternity and gets sacked because of it. That won't happen to Dak much often. He'll just run with it or move out of the pocket and throw it while running. Something which Rogers used to do very well in his younger days.

Well, a little off in their analysis.

- Inconsistency mars almost every aspect of his game, especially mechanically.
(LOL. Try again)
- Location and accuracy are generally poor, makes receivers adjust to off-target balls and minimizes yards after catch.
- Makes very poor decisions at times, forces passes into coverage.
(One of his best traits as a CBoy. Doesn't force passes into coverage.)
- Doesn’t possess the heralded “power arm” that he was once rumored to have.
(he easily made a 60 yd throw in preseason. Power arm as in 80 yd throws I'm guessing they want.)
- Does not throw with anticipation, poor timing leads to late throws to all areas of the field
(way off here)
- Lacks accuracy and velocity when throwing on the move.

And NFL Projection (WAYYY OFF)
- Right now there isn’t much to show he’ll be anything more than a decent backup someday. Grade: 6th round

  • Heralded throughout the college ranks for his maturity, character, and leadership abilities
  • Extremely hard worker who has made strides every year
I think these 2 are why he has done so well as a rookie starter.
after 2nd PS game I did some research on him, and these 2 things came up repeatedly, and
I thought then this guy is going to take advantage of any opportunity he gets.
Then next week tony got hurt, and I thought this guy is going to go all out to keep the starting
job, like he did in HS and College.

To be honest, I knew he was special, but didnt think he would do this good.

I think Prescott will get snatched up late on day three due to the flashes of talent that are evident on tape and an exceptional work ethic that promises improvement, but right now there isn’t much to show he’ll be anything more than a decent backup someday.

I bet many teams would give a # 1 pick to dallas right now to get this decent bkup !

If they werent showing any confidence in him they would a college offense and not an NFL offense. He is running pretty much some offense they run with Romo

Due to his off the field issues and the video of him apparently drunk, I didn't think he would be anything other than another mistake. I was wrong about the on the field performance. I look forward to being wrong on the off the field issues as well. You can't help but like the young man and his honesty. It's just so refreshing.

Some of his passes can look pretty ugly, but then again he's pretty damn close to 70% completion percentage. The dude is doing well...

This report says he's got a long ways to go to play in the NFL, is nothing more than a decent backup someday and is a 6th round value.

Yeah, they nailed it.
