Dak's season ending injury was the most cupcake injury I've ever seen

If we were a playoff team, rest assured he would be back and try to let it heal on its own. Dak is a lot of things, but a quitter he is not. This is likely similar to a pitcher who has shoulder inflammation in September, and either plays/rests based on his teams postseason chances
He may not be a quitter, but he damn sure has been making a lot of business decisions since his last major injury...go re-watch his long run from Sunday and you will see that even though he had lane 50 feet wide, he STILL HESITATED TO TAKE OFF, a clearly DID NOT WANT TO....just imagine how willing to go all out he will be next year....it's gonna be ugly!

He knew the injury was there just not so severe, so did the team. That’s why he was limping in preseason. Maybe you’d rather have Cooper rush out there.

You thought this "poor roster" was a 10 win roster though.

Or did you think Dak was just so great that he was going to be able to overcome it and win 10 games?

I was hoping that our run game wouldn't be as bad as I thought it might be. I was thinking if we could just run the ball effectively in the RedZone, we had a shot. I was hoping that Zeke could at least pound the ball into the endzone inside the 5. My concerns entering the season had to do with stopping the run and the ability to run the ball. Clearly, our run game is worse than I feared. Had we gotten Henry, I think we probably do win 10 games given that our defence isn't actually playing badly overall.

Chalk it up as a lesson learned.

Regardless of the OP's title, if he tore his hammy off the bone while passing and not running does not paint a rosy picture for sustained durability at the QB spot.
He was already hesitant to run based off the past ankle surgery.
This further adds to a lack of mobility that will be forthcoming.

Yeah, Dak Prescott as a statue pocket passer should not encourage genuine optimism moving forward.

But to each their own.

Well, yeah, next time, I'll be giving a ceiling and a floor. That said, we need a much better running game, and it's why I was furious we didn't get Henry. I was actually okay with Zeke if we got Henry too. Henry, Zeke, Dowdle, and Luepke would have made a great backfield.

I'll tell ya this.

Don't get excited until Dak is gone. There is no reason to because he will always fail.

Well, that's why I've had many threads about various plans centered around the fact we can be out of his contract in 2026 or 2027 with June 1 cuts. If we are smart, we can use this time to prep the team for a new QB, get the new QB in the building this year or next year, and then let them sit a year behind Dak like Mahomes did Alex Smith. That way, we have a QB in position to succeed if we play it smartly.

So you think Dak caused this injury on purpose?

He tore his hammy of the bone intentionally?
You saw Dak's X-rays? You know how to read imaging? You consulted with Dak, his trainers and his doctors?
How do you know he tore tissue from the bone? Who told you? Dak?
The upshot is you do not know, correct?
Neither do I. Neither does the critic.
@TheCritic, from what I read of his post, he implied Dak's injury was dubious to him. Or that Dak opted to make a fuss over something relatively minor.
So why even weigh in on his injury to which medical records we are not privvy or can not decipher?
To me, the injury comes at a convenient time for Dak, the $60 mil man who could not bear the humiliation of going 8-9.
So let's enjoy Dak's absence while we look at the talented Lance and Rush and anybody Yoda brings in from the sticks.

Dak's season ending injury was the most cupcake injury I've ever seen! Not even touched, just some random fluke injury that only a 60 million a year QB that doesn't want to deal with the inconvenience of having some rookie OLs blocking for him. Poor baby...
:facepalm:I always thought all of us were created equal. I guess not. :(

49ers Dre Greenlaw tore his Achilles just by running on the field. Jamal Anderson tore his ACL just by making a simple cut. In fact, most ACL tears seem to happen in a "cupcake" type of way. Tyron Smith had the same thing happen to him a few years ago. Tore it off the bone just by running.

This fan base is something else, man, I swear!

It needs to be said. Where do some of your people come from. Lol something gets in your head and you just put it in writing. Lol.
Ever seen a Flat Earth video? How about a Mud Flood video? Birds are actually tiny spaceships?

The most ridiculous thing you can imagine is something somebody else is already certain is real.

And all the Dakophants always like to talk about how fragile Romo was. At least when Romo came back from an injury, he didn't play fearfully.

One does not wear a walking boot for a hamstring injury. That was something different. This was just a freak accident. It happens. Now, had he been running and maneuvering different because of whatever ankle/foot thing he had going on, that could have contributed to the hamstring injury. It is what it is and it sucks the guy got hurt, but that's football.
