Glad you like mediocracy at a top dollar price. Enjoy the years of average that will be afforded you.

I get the argument against paying Dak top dollar but arguments like this just make the position look ignorant.

Dak was above average and led one of the NFL's top offenses. Being 26 years old, Dak is projected to improve for the next couple of years.

Dak has 3-5 seasons left as a starter, on avg.

Hey maybe Dak and the Cowboys will get the deal done at the end of the month since February only deserves respect during a leap year. This is how asinine this contract negotiation process has become.

Please, please, please let this unravel into hostility between the two camps. It's our only shot at avoiding this huge mistake.

Guess I was wrong on them not having much contact.

It's soooooooooo Dallas Cowboys to find themselves in a situation where they have a QB who is good enough to want to try to continue with but not good enough that he's likely worth a Top 3 contract.

LOL.

Based on avg career length of a QB.

example: Romo got 9 seasons. Staubach 10. Aikman 10 1/2

Low number on Dak is 7. High is 12. Take the avg.

Romo started at age 26, Staubach at 29. So, take that into your equations, as older age does play a role. Dak started at a much earlier age and has avoided serious injuries to his back, collarbone and brain so far.

Aikman retired due to his concussion issues and well obviously he got cut. If Dallas wasn't in "Cap hell". maybe his career could of been longer if he didn't sustain any more concussions.

In the modern age of the NFL, most QB's don't have a short peak, if they are good QBs and avoid injury.

Alex Smith played for 13+ years and would of for a few more years if not for a nasty injury.

1. You are ignoring age. The first two you mentioned didn't start at age 21 like Dak.

2. You are ignoring injury history. When Dak starts having back issues like Romo and Aikman let me know.

3. The average career length of NFL quarterbacks is 4.5 years. That is not as cut and dropped as you claim. Most of that has to do with lack of ability whereas Dak has shown that he is a pro bowl quarterback.

4. At your supposed end date Dak will be 31 years old. there is no reason whatsoever to believe that he will be physically limited at that point as that is typically viewed as the end of the physical prime for people at his position.

jones boys are probably ticked at dak and his agent, so already plan to tag him.
big splash could be drafting a new qb.
