Dale Jr. is off the snide with his fuel mileage win at Michigan International Speedway. The winless drought stops on Father's Day at 76 races with a fantastic call by Tony Eury, Jr., keeping Dale Jr. out on the track when everyone else needed one last pitstop to finish the 200 lap, 400 mile race.

Sam Hornish, Jr. was possibly the ace in the hole for Earnhardt. The former open wheel racer spun out with 3 laps to go, putting the entire field under it's second to last caution of the day.

Hearts had to be pounding watching Earnhardt coast behind the pace car, flipping his starter on and off, diving down to the apron to even out his Amp Energy car, all in the effort of conserving precious fuel that many teams just couldn't do.

Earnhardt nation not only can breathe a bit easier, but can begin the chest pounding once again.

Here's to you Dale Jr.!!! Thank you for your patience, and professionalism. Looks like you're back. And the other Sprint Cup drivers know it.

YES!!! I was delighted with that voctory, it's been a long time coming and a win this year was just a matter of time with how consistent he has been. Great to see him back in victory lane.

Let's see how Hendrick Motor Sports helps Junior with this weekend's road course race at Sonoma race. DEI just didn't seem to give Dale Jr. what he needed when it came to race packages for all the various tracks.

Now Junior has a team that knows how to build engines, and race cars.
