Dallas won all five superbowls by a combined score of 160-60. Never noticed that before.

Just a side note, Dallas lost the three by a combined score of 61-72.

When we win, we win big, when we lose. we lose by a few.

Sorry, just a little bored... :D

I've always been aware of this...painfully so...

Our losses, even in the Championship games, have often been by close margins.

Makes ya think of what could have been with a few more breaks going in our favor.

What could have been...

A Colts' game-winning field goal in the final seconds of Super Bowl V. That game went down to the wire, literally.

In Super Bowl X, Dallas surrendering a safety (blocked punt) to Pittsburgh early in the fourth quarter. Two extra points for the Steelers late in the game. Two points which were the difference between Dallas having to go for a game-winning touchdown late in the game or a game-winning field goal. Of course, Dallas would have needed to drive the length of the field late because Noll would have punted if that scenario had existed, but we had Roger 'Hail Mary!' Staubach. Who knows if Staubach could have gotten us in field goal range with a little over a minute left to play and no timeouts, but he still had Pearson. Two measly points.

Fans, including Cowboy fans, point out that Pittsburgh simply outscored us in Super Bowl XIII. True, but the fact remains that at the end of the third quarter, the game should have been 21-21. The difference between that score and the actual score of 21-17 at that stage of the game was a Septien field goal and a sure, delivered-between-the-numbers, dropped Jackie Smith touchdown pass from Staubach. The fact remains that we actually scored at the end of that drive, the difference between the actual scoring opportunities was four points, and the winning margin was by four points.

I'm depressed now. :(

I can depress you further if you want to talk about the first two Championship games against the Packers...

Oh, I think you know me well enough that you could just call me "Juke"..

Oh and let's not forget 28-27 vs the 49ers.

Kidding aside...every other dynasty for each decade, the 60's Packers, the 70's Steelers, the 80's 49ers cannot be discussed without the Cowboy's coming into the conversation.

Pretty amazing.

ARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!! Now, I have visions of Dwight Clark making the you-know-what. Thank you, Juke! I'm putting down the blades and heading for the nearest highway. There is a 18-wheeler's grill with my name written ALL over it. :)

True that. What's also amazing is how a franchise 1) fielded a team that didn't have a losing season for DECADES; and 2) appeared in NFL championship games both before and after the Super Bowl era began...

...never seemed to 'impress' hall of fame selectors enough to induct more Cowboys. A LONG time ago.

I know. I know. Old story.
