I've posted the Dallas at Seattle news release (4 MB PDF file) at this link:

http://dl.***NOT-ALLOWED***/u/55156...eattle/Dallas Cowboys at Seattle Seahawks.pdf

Interesting snippet from the article:

The Dallas Cowboys will open the 2012 season with back-to-back road games, the first on the East Coast - at the N.Y. Giants - and the second on the West Coast - at Seattle. This season is Dallas’ 12th time, second consecutive and third time to open the season playing back-to-back opposite coast games.

The first time this happened, Dallas traveled to Washington followed by a trip to Los Angeles in 1969. Only once did Dallas win both contests.
Guess who the opponents were in the single instance in which the Cowboys won back-to-back games on difference coasts?

The Giants and the Seahawks.

Thanx for posting that -- I wasn't sure if the link would work so you just confirmed that it does.

Thanks, Freddie! I love these things. I was about to take some bath salts and gnaw someone's face because ETex hadn't posted this yet.

I've read this sentence 10 times and I still don't understand it.
12th time = opposite coast openings in their history
second consecutive = opposite coast openings in a row
Third time = ?

EDIT: okay, now I get it. Three times that has happened at the beginning of the season.
Confusing writing? Dumb me? Probably some combination of the two.

Probably written in haste by some Cowboys PR flack. This info ends up in articles written by the likes of Clarence Hill, Calvin Watkins and others. Hopefully the reporters can unpack such language and rewrite it in a form their readers can understand.

Still, it is interesting that the Cowboys have had to endure this opening season coast-to-coast double road trip so often.
