Dallas' Biggest Need is...

... a big fast #1 WR. A guy like that who forces the defense to back 8 out of the box. Dallas has no one who can take a quick slant to the house.

Keyshawn is big and catches everything that comes his way, but defenders can easily run with him.

Terry is fast, but he's the only fast threat so defenses can take him out of the picture; also, by the time he's finished his pattern our OL is getting beat by the rush. He also isn't a guy who can catch the ball across the middle and keep running.

Patrick Crayton gave us a hint of what a well-rounded receiving threat can do for Dallas, but he's more of a Ricky Proehl-type. A healthy Crayton is a clutch receiver, but he's more of a third or fourth string guy.

Jason Witten catches the ball well, but is not known for YAC.

Julius Jones averages 4 yards per carry when the defense is spread, and much less when he faces 8 in the box. Dallas' personnel simply does not stretch the defense well.

What's the solution? I don't know. T.O., if he had his act straight, would add yet another old WR. There are no Chad Johnsons or Torry Holts out there to be picked up.

But continue, what do you think is Dallas' biggest need?

1. ILB...Someone who is going to be calling the defensive schemes seems paramount to me.

1a. DT...If we waive Glover. It will be a huge mistake if this happens.

2. FS...2nd round if not 1st round.

3. K...It's time to have a weapon at this position. Excuse me while I go throw up.

4. OL...I won't single out any position on the OL. Whether it is starters or depth, we need to improve. I think a better OL Coach would help. The vanilla schemes don't impress and don't seem to address blitzes at all.

5. OLB...A bookend for Ware. I'd love to see Burnett stake this claim.

6. QB...To be grooming for the future. I hope this is Henson, but it if isn't then get on about the business. Stop screwing around with the QB position.

1. Center
2. FS
3. ILB
4. OLB
5. RT--though Rob could be the guy by next season as we know he is playing through injuries.
6. WR

Assuming Glover gets cut which makes sense given his salary then add DT to the list.

I'd love to add an elite WR to this team but it may be cost prohibitive. I could see Philly really coveting Glover but two bitter rivals trading is unlikely.

1. K- The best that money can buy.

2. RT- The best that FA or the draft has to offer.

3. WR- The best that FA or the draft has to offer.

4. C- The best that FA has to offer.

5. LB- draft

6. FS- draft or FA.

We are of like mind.

For us to pass on a Offensive Tackle just to get a linebacker could be consider a crime.

our #1 need is OL & LB. They are tied for importance. the other 2 positions are FS and WR.

We can address all of these needs this year.

OT: FA
OG: 3rd round
MLB: 1st Round
OLB: Abraham (JETS)

WR: Owens
FS: 2nd Round

That would make us look something like this:

Henry Williams 2nd Round Pick Newman
Ware James 1st Rounder(Shanle) Abraham(Burnett)
Canty(Ellis) Glover(Ferguson) Spears(Coleman)

Adams Adams Johnson Rivera FA Whitten
Ownes Bledsoe Keyshawn/ Glen
Polite
Jones/Barber

Agree with all of this, and I'd put a receiver on the list just for the fact that we'll be losing both starters in the the next two years, and it's better to break them in one at a time.

I think we could find a heckuva FS in the 2nd round, but I know you want the LSU guy and he won't be around then.

It's way too many needs to fill in the draft alone.

Agree with ILB as biggest need...I see o-line depth as next and then deep threat and kicker as equal but maybe kicker could outweight WR. Then comes safety.

Yeah, WR off that list is an oversight on my part.
