In order for dallas to win the division...Dallas has to have a better record than the Eagles... have to win out to have any realistic shot at winning the division

Title should read - dallas can't win any Tb w philly

We better but defense needs to step up, we need some damn pressure.

That's the thing that sucks. No one is walking through the door at this point in the season to bring us a much needed pass rush. We're going to need a break here and there to make it to/make any noise in the playoffs. It is what it is but tonight was a nice step forward after the Philly debacle.

How can we not win a tie breaker with Philly if we have the same record? Break it down for us.

which is why none of us should be focused on the division until cowboys take the lead in the division at 10-4 with 2 games left.

Until that happens, im all wildcard

Don't waste your time. It's not at all true.

It's true.

Doesn't matter if they both finish 10-6, 11-5, or 12-4. Philly holds the tiebreaker in any scenario either via better winning percentage vs. common opponents, or via better divisional record.

I can see EaGirls losing to Washington. Deadskins went toe to toe with them in Philly and only lost to them by 3.

Bad news is, I can see us losing to Washing again too.

I stand corrected, the OP was correct. My bad.

We'd be screwed by a loss to Indy since Philly beat Indy, whereas the GB loss doesn't hurt Philly as much since we don't play GB.

Although if we win out and get to 12-4 I don't think we'd lose the tiebreaker, which the OP also says.

If we win out and Philly goes 3-1 with their one loss against us, we don't win the tie-breaker. We would both be at 12-4 and they win the division but we would get a WC in all probability.

Wow, you're right. Because that would be Philly's only division loss and we've lost 2 of those. Crap.

This Seahawks-Eagles game is huge.

The OP is correct.................I played around with the playoff generator and there is no scenario in which Dallas and Philly end the season with the same record and Dallas wins the tiebreak..............Philly wins all tiebreaks.

Even if we win out and beat the Eagles in Philly, we still lose the division unless somebody else beats Philly. Besides our rematch, Philly plays Seattle, New York, and Washington.

Clearly the best chance for Philly to lose is against Seattle.............the Giants just lost to the Jags and the Skins lose to everybody but us..............if Philly beats the Seahawks, they most likely win the division and our rematch means nothing.

It may seem like nothing, but it would be nice to exact some revenge and beat them in their house. Plus, you never know with Washington especially since they played them close earlier in the season in Philly. Hopefully New York and Washington will want to play spoiler (which I'm pretty sure they will) and they'll play the Eagles tough.

We'd get the 5 seed almost guaranteed in that scenario because Seattle would have five losses and I don't think the a lions win out. Definitely in the playoffs.

EDIT: actually if Lions win out they win the division and I believe we would have tiebreaker over Green Bay with a better record in common games (4-1 vs 3-2). So if we win out we are the 5 seed no matter what.

Is that true? They're 3-0 in the division, and we're 2-2 right now, right? We beat them and Was and end 4-2, and they lose to us, NY, and WAS and end up 3-3. Say they beat SEA in the process and finish 10-6, 3-3 in division. And we lose to Indy...yeah, that means we'd end up 11-5, 4-3 and win outright on record.

So, the only scenario where we can win the tie break is one where we don't need it. Oh, well. Go Seahawks. I really wish that game were in Seattle.
