Exactly! Shell shocked into a defeatist outlook on life.
Not everyone is as optimistic as you. Someday hopefully you'll be able to accept that without feeling the need to lash out at them.

Back to back 12-5 seasons is reason for optimism.

The Cowboys could be coming off back to back 5-12 seasons and you would still find reasons for optimism.

I mean, that's kind of how I operate too. A new season is a time of optimism imo.
After what we’ve seen with the Cowboys the past 28 years it’s hard to operate like that with them. I’m optimistic they can have a good regular season and make the playoffs but that’s where my optimism ends. When they can’t even get past the divisional round game in more than two decades, it’s hard to have a lot of optimism entering the playoffs.

Yes, as then it is fun to see how they rebuild.
After the 1988 season, and having the 1st pick and knowing we would get Troy Aikman. Then Jimmy coming in and the Walker trade.
That was actually fun to see them build and grow. I knew they would be god for a long time. Then FA came along.

I was living in South Florida at that time. And as soon as the 1988 season ended, that next day, myself and a few fellow Dallas fans were high 5-ing. We had the #1 pick.
Everyone thought we were crazy as Dallas lost the last game, and GB won, then we explained it to them.

GB should have lost their last game, but they upset the team they played and Dallas lost, and got that pick.

I was excited about getting the number one overall pick after the 88 season but I was still feeling pretty miserable because it didn’t guarantee we would get better. There were no assurances Troy Aikman would pan out. The Cowboys then proceeded to having an even worse season in 89 than they had in 88 going 1-15. That was very disheartening! I thought they would win at least win four or five games. Jerry and Jimmy became the butt of jokes and everyone around the league, including the fans, were questioning what they were doing. Fortunately, things turned out better than we could’ve ever imagined but those three seasons between 88 and 91 were very trying.

We got this baby!!!!
I like this version. Looks like Two early games and 6 night games

Viewing QB1 next to this schedule sends shivers down my spine..........
OMG, he is going to get slaughtered this coming season, and with no Zeke or Moore to comfort him.......
Book it no way he finishes the season without going out injured AGAIN!!!!

I can see the Cowboys possibly hanging out on the west coast for weeks 5 & 6 then coming home for the bye, but the Chargers game is on a Monday night so maybe not.

I mean, I've never seen us win a title, but, hey, I can't go into the season feeling like the season will be terrible. I'm not sure how it'll turn out, but hey, it's always fun to start a new season.
