First of all, I am projecting two trades in this draft. In my mock draft Cowboys will trade the 1st Round pick and 4 Round pick to Cleveland for two 2nds and a 3rd Rd. And Cowboys will trade Alfred Morris and a 6 Rd to Carolina Panthers for a 5th Round pick.

2nd Round (1st) (From Cleveland) : Dallas Cowboys select Reuben Foster ILB Alabama
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/reuben-foster?id=2557837
He is a great player that had a set-back and Cowboys will be able to start him at Middle Linebacker with Jaylon Smith and Strong Outside Linebacker and Sean Lee as Weak Outside Linebacker.

2nd Round (20) (From Cleveland) : Dallas Cowboys select Adoree Jackson CB USC
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/adoree-jackson?id=2558065
Will instantly come in right away and be and impact on special teams on returns, defense in the slot, and offense if they use him in certain packages.

2nd Round (28) : Dallas Cowboys select Obi Melifonwu SS UCONN
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/obi-melifonwu?id=2558189
Cowboys could plug him in at Strong Safety and he can start from day one and contribute on the other side of Bryon Jones as a force.

3rd Round (1) From Cleveland: Dallas Cowboys selects DeMarcus Walker DE Florida State
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/demarcus-walker?id=2557894
He will start at Right End and be a pro bowler his first season with Rod Marelini coaching. He will be the "War Daddy" Jerry is looking for.

3rd Round (28): Dallas Cowboys selects D'onta Foreman RB Texas
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/donta-foreman?id=2557994
Can come in and be the complement to Ezekiel Elliot. He brings great blocking, power running, home-run hitter, and can catch the ball.

4th Round (27): Dallas Cowboys selects Sidney Jones CB Washington
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/sidney-jones?id=2557958
Had an injury that will cause him to dramatically drop because of the question whether he play this year or not. But he will be a good investment with this pick.

5th Round (8) From Panthers: Dallas Cowboys selects Donnel Pumphrey RB San Deigo State
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/donnel-pumphrey?id=2557892
Will automatically be held into an Lance Dunbar role because he can catch and run. Also, might I add he is a home-run hitter.

7th Round (10): Dallas Cowboys select Jalen Reeves-Maybin LB Tennessee
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/jalen-reeves-maybin?id=2557924
Will be great to have backing up until he develop into full-time starter. He has starter abilities but just need to develop. He has All-Pro Potential.

7th Round (28): Dallas Cowboys select Stevie Tu'Ikolovatu NT USC
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/stevie-tuikolovatu?id=2557962
He will be instant depth to rotate in the Rod Mareneli scheme and he should be productive stopping the run and being a force in the middle.

Look
Thanks for effort..really.

But why do so many of you do trades that are so out there?

The EXACT (zero debate at all..a perfect value match at 960) with Cleveland if you want their two 2nd rounders (33 and 52) is Dallas' 1st (28) and second (60).
That's really simple and real.
The rest is kind of fantasyland.

Still...hats off for the good effort and vids.

It seems the the "I've heard of him" draft or maybe the "highlight reel" draft.

Even without the drug and character issues, there are questions about Foster's coverage ability. In the modern NFL, LBs have to be good to great in coverage. I think the drug issue makes him a no-go for the Cowboys.

Jackson at 60 is OK depending on who else is there, but there are several CBs in this draft that project to be better Pros, but that don't come close to Jackson in the highlight reel department.

Having said that, I like the players with the exception that they can't take Foster after the failed drug test. If they're going to take a questionable character guy, then McDowell would be the choice. If they both play to their potential, McDowell does way more for the Cowboys than Foster, IMO.

Nice effort, but, as stated previously, Foster is a risk; don't see him on Cowboys' board.

And draft two RBs?? Nope.

Only way Dallas draft's two LB is if one is transitioned to DE. Plus, a 7th rounder with All-Pro potential??

Also, I think Dallas drafts a tackle mid to late, to groom for the future. Chaz and Bell duct tape the position this year.

Given we like to play a lot of nickel, if Smith is healthy, what LB would come off the field between Lee, Smith and Foster?

If it's 4-2-5, then Foster. Lee and Smith are better in coverage. Could easily also run a 3-3-5 nickel and rush either Smith or Foster, both of whom are good blitzers.
