Ok So I asked this question over on the Colts forum and Packers forum to see what people say, is the biggest rivalry to date..... Also which gets the most attention.

I am going to have to flip this question as in the Colts forum I was describing the Dallas and Packers rivalry, then said I dont need to talk about the Patriots and COlts rivalry. Although I am sure everyone here knows about the great games between the Patriots and Colts but Ill just do a quick scan over in case someone does lol.

The Packers and Cowboys obviously goes way back to great games like the "Ice Bowl" (as the Colts and Pats dont) and also their great rivalry in the 90's where Green Bay was though to be one of if not the best team in NFL, but would get the crap kicked out of them each and every year by Dallas. It started the year Green Bay becamse a playoff team in 1993 and actually lost to Dallas in the division playoff game. That carried on for years, I dont think Green Bay got a single victory (not even in their superbowl year) I think they finally got their first win in 1997 the year they lost in the superbowl actually. One of my favourite games was in 1995 in the regular season. Both teams had only one loss facing each other and it ended up being a very close game I think like 34-27 or something for the Cowboys.

Now on to the Patriots and the Colts. This rivalry although alot shorter is alot like the Packers and Cowboys rivalry, as the Colts were thought to be since 2002 one of if not the best team in NFL... The rivalry started in 2003 when the Brady and Manning ment for the first time. Both teams were 9-2 coming in to face each other, and the Colts lost 38-34 which came down to the wire. The Colts were still thought of as the better team, and the Patriots were called a bunch of replacements for injured players bla bla...

When it came to the confrence championship in the playoffs I believe the Patriots were the under dogs by quite a bit if I remember correctly (Could be wrong) anyways the game took place in New England. The Colts ended up losing once again 24-14. This time not so close. Same thing happened in 04 Colts lost a close one in the regular season, and come playoff time the Colts were absolutely dominated I think 21-3. They lost 4 straight games before they got their first win in 05 against the Pats.

And now the Colts have the upper hand in the series, as the Patriots won the first 4 in a row. The Colts have now won the last 4 out of 5 games with the Patriots since 2005.

So Anyway anyone els care to share their opinions. Both games are going to be great Sunday :) I cant wait!!!!!!! I am just glad they are not on at the same time as each other haha.

I can tell yah here in Wiscowsin Packers fans consider the Cowboys to be their biggest rivalry outside of the North, followed closely by Tampa Bay, which is always called the "Battle of the Bay" games. It does stem directly from the 90's when the Cowboys, 49ers, and Packers were the top three teams in the league.

I vividly remember that game. Prior to the Cowboys were treating it as another game but the emotional level in Wisconsin was very high. I remember the final seconds of that game as they were showing Aikman walking off the field and Madden saying "the monkey is off their back", in relation to the Packers always losing to the Cowboys. It sucked.

Ya the Packers and Cowboys have always had great games no doubt about that.... Both games in 05 were very good actually. Regular season and the playoffs. Its going to be a different kind of rivalry now with Rodgers at the helemt.

I remember watching the game in 07 when Favre went out with an injury thinking Dallas is going to destroy them, not knowing much about Rodgers at the time. Then Rodgers comes in and plays better then Favre would have. That was a very good game. Although last year Dallas gave Green Bay a pretty good beating... I think they still only won by 11 points.

None the less I am excited for both games this Sunday. New England and the Colts never dissapoint!! Especially the last 4 games the Pats and Colts had were extremely close, I think all 4 were decided by 6 points or less.
