Kickers and Cornerbacks psyche are very fragile and we don't need to mess with his head if he misses it.

To us, we can compartmentalize that it's just missing a 71 harder but to a kicker, a miss is a miss

I kind of get that. To me it comes down to what happens in practice. If he makes it from 71 in practice half the time then I’d try it
