What is the difference of a hail mary or trying for the 71 yard FG?

With a hail Mary you at least have guys with speed out there in case of a turnover. On a field goal that falls short, u have to count on o lineman to make a tackle in the open field against a fast returner.

They know he doesn't have the ability to get it there from 71.
