I would add to observe the defense against the run

The Browns were the 6th leading rushing team.....even without Chubb

If the defense isn't better against the run, it could be a long day.

Agree. Quinn philosophy against the run was a failure. Zim has to be an upgrade since there's nowhere to go but up

Yep, and between McFraud, Schott and Solari we still never figured out what kind of run blocking scheme we were last year ie inside zone, outside zone or man.

So let's just double down on that same scheme, recall a washed vet and let him be the bell cow all under the guise of a RBBC and new commitment to the run game.

My biggest concern for today and for the season is a 2nd pass rusher to Micah. If I'm an opponent he would never see a one on one in a pass rushing situation. Parcell's old adage was if you have one pass rusher you have none because they can always take one away if they focus on it. Also, when the QB knows he only has to worry about the side Micah is on it's easier to be aware of the pressure and he can slide the other way if need be. I'd be sending Micah from all over the LOS and on that Zimmer A-Gap blitz more like a couple of years ago and I legit think we add a pass rusher by the trade deadline and contrary to how we operate it will be a top player, not a bargain basement guy and I think that will be the difference in big spots for us.

Seems surreal this season. With the terrible offseason and uncertainty it’s been tough to get into this year. I have no idea what to expect since we are the only team in the league that doesn’t play anyone in the PS. I mean Lupke didn’t even play folks! Give me a break…..

I hate living in Maryland when it comes to Cowboys football. NFL ticket has me by the you know what. I was trying to get by without getting the ticket but because Washington and Baltimore control my area, I have no choice. This year especially with NFC East playing the AFC North, I will miss several Cowboys games because the Baltimore area would rather have the Steelers on than the Cowboys. So I will get to watch the Ravens, Commanders, Steelers before the national game of the week.

Yeah. It was weird not having ANY of our starters play in pre-season. I guess, technically, our "rookie" starters played in pre-season, however, no starting vets played. I mean, I get that you want to protect your "stars", but not all of our starters are stars. Oh well....guess we're going to find out soon enough.
