If the 49ers thought Lance offered anything they wouldn't have traded him to a team within the NFC.

He has had 4 seasons so he has to show something soon to showcase he can be a starter either in Dallas or elsewhere in the NFL. Don't think the 49ers would have gotten rid of him if they believed he showed a lot of promise still. They would keep him in the back up spot behind Purdy.
