Affectionately known as "Mr. Cowboy," he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1980 and was the first player who spent his entire career with the Cowboys to be elected into Canton.

Mike Sherrard showed promise until he broke his leg twice, so I'm not sure if that's worst then David LaFleur. (Tony Gonzales came out of that draft) or Danny Noonan to name a couple.

Rod Hill drafted in 1982 with the 25th pick in the first round was a terrible pick.

Seems like everybody is dwelling on the bad picks. So to change the tune in here and focus on the good ones:

Herschel Walker in the 5th and Roger Staubach in the 10th would be 1-A and 1-B for me. As much as I love Bob Lilly, Mr. Cowboy will have to settle for #3 on this particular list.

Bobby Carpenter was my mos hated pick in recent memory. Parcells picked him in the 1st round cause he was great friends with his father, but the guy was a 3rd round talent at best, and it sucked watching us waist a pick on him. And we all know how that turned out..

Larry Christopher Allen, Sr. (born November 27, 1971) is a former American football guard who played in the National Football League (NFL) for fourteen seasons. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 1994 NFL Draft. He played college football at Sonoma State. At 6 ft 3 in height and weighing 325 pounds, Allen is regarded as one of the physically strongest men to have ever played in the NFL, having recorded an assisted bench press of 692 lb (314 kg) and an unwitnessed squat of 905 lb (411 kg).

An 11-time Pro Bowl selection, Allen played 12 seasons with the Cowboys and earned a Super Bowl ring with the team after a 27–17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XXX.

In his career, he played in more Pro Bowls than any other Dallas Cowboys offensive player in franchise history. On February 2, 2013, Allen was voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.[3]
______

I remember watching him compete in a Strongman Competition on ESPN2 where he bench pressed 705 pounds. :flex:

However, my most vivid memory of LA was on a 1994 MNF game vs NY Pissants where he chased down a NY player after a Dallas turnover and Al Michaels yelled 'LARRY ALLEN!'. Of course Madden had some stupid comment about loving to see a fellow fat guy running down a much faster/smaller player.

Staubach in the 10th round, crazy. He would be un-drafted nowadays.

Yes, I remember when Danny was drafted. Dale Hansen had a clip of caddyshack and Chevy calling for Danny Noonan. Then it jump to clips of Danny at Nebraska blowing people up. (steriods)

Well, not to be a , but I don't think the 705 bench was in a competition, and the game you're referring to was against the saints.

Kevin Brooks.

He was so bad that his draft highlight reel on ESPN was of him getting pancaked on every play.
