Ezekiel Elliott is 6' 225lbs
Alfred Morris is 5'10 222lbs
Darius Jackson is 6' 220lbs
Darren Mcfadden is 6'1 220lbs

Looks like we are looking to punish some teams with physical backs but 3 of those 4 also have speed. (Morris brings power and quickness not really speed).

If we waste a spot on the fullback position I think Mcfadden gets traded or released (unless injuries happen to the backs in front of him).
(yes lance dunbar is small at 5'8" 191lbs but he is the utility back, hopefully he even plays this year).

Its going to be a tough call on McFadden. If we can get value, then great. I like the idea of Jackson, but worry about him if he has to protest the passer.

Zeke and Morris will be a sick combo.

Hell, forget about going back to 90's glory days with our running game, let's go back to the NFL era of the 60's-70's when teams like the New England Patriots ran for over 3,000 yards (Record) and the Oakland Raiders attempted 681 rushes (record)

Still think getting rid of McFadden wouldn't be the prudent move. Outside of Elliott (presumably), DMac is the most complete back on the roster.

I get you but if Jackson shows potential I don't want to cut him.

McFadden is on a 1 year deal. Morris has a couple years and Jackson is locked in.

I can not wait to see Darius Jackson run the ball tonight.

Having a FB is not a waste of position.
Both Smith's, Keith and Rod are 6, 0" 231, and 6'3" 232 respectively. So there is some more size, and Rod can also line up at RB.
The TE as a Fb experiment has shown not to work...so that extra TE spot is actually the waste. But I can see them keeping a FB and that 4th TE, and they will only go 5 WR's. If they do go 6 WR, then they go 8 OL, or less at DB or DL.
If they had a legit back up QB, then only need to keep 2 at QB.

I agree about FB. I know the trend is going away from using FB's but our running game seems to thrive when we have a solid FB leading the way. And our hang up with multiple TE's and trying to emulate teams like NE hasn't ever really worked.

If Jackson shows promise I would keep him over McFadden. McFadden played well last year but that was a recent exception for him.

It's a waste when the fullback doesn't actually block the guys he's supposed to block. Which appears to be a problem with our current FBs. So for this team it could easily be a wasted position.

I don't think the Fullback on the opening day roster is even on the team now. I do see one of these guys (Smith or Smith) being on the practice squad.

From a few reports, and a few scrimmage plays?cmeed much more than that.
I'll wait and see them in action for all the PS games before saying they suck.
Give them a few games at least.
