Quarterbacks (3)

Starter: Tony Romo

Backups: Brandon Weeden, Dustin Vaughan

The Cowboys will likely go with three again this year. The team is showing a clear interest in how Vaughan develops, and the new investment in virtual reality technology could be a huge plus for his growth. It is highly doubtful that he will be able to challenge Weeden for the number two spot this season, but that looks to be the target for the following year.

Offensive line (9)

Starters: Tyron Smith, Ronald Leary, Travis Frederick, Zack Martin, Doug Free

Backups: La'el Collins, Mackenzy Bernadeau, Chaz Green, Darrion Weems

I don't think Collins will crack the starting lineup, mainly because Leary and Free are not going to let it happen. But he will become the primary backup at guard, which is just fine. Weems may face a significant challenge from Laurence Gibson. He has never quite developed the way the team hoped. The key point here is that the team will go with nine on the roster.

As usual, I disagree with Mr. Ryle.

I believe Collins starts. If we would have moved up in the draft and taken him at 16, everybody would be penciling him in. I don't see the difference just because we got him at bargain basement rates.

You are right about had he been drafted high
Don't know if he will start or not but had he been picked where he should have been he would have
The nice thing about getting him where we did is they are more likely to make their decision on ability rather than draft status

I think we go with 3 RB and 1 FB. Maybe 3 RB and 6 WR or 6 CB. No way we carry 4 RB.

I wouldn't risk trying to pass Gibson through to the practice squad. Too many teams in the league that need depth at offensive tackle. Gibson was on the phone to visit Denver when the Cowboys drafted him. And that was before they lost left tackle Ryan Clady.

I would keep 10 offensive linemen before I would just let one get away.

Say goodbye to Jack Crawford or a safety who can't play safety like McCray.

Just think of the long list of names discussed around here that aren't on that list.

Good players are going to get cut.

I agree McCray cant play safety but he was likely brought here for special teams.
