Dallas Cowboys deny own Web site report on Wade Phillips

Officially, the Cowboys do not have any announcements today even though the team's Web site is reporting Wade Phillips has a three-year extension in place to remain the Cowboys coach.

"There is no announcement and nothing has been finalized," director of public relations Rich Dalrymple said.

It's an interesting twist in Phillips' coaching future with a source acknowledging the Cowboys are committed to picking up the option for the fourth year of Phillips deal.

Rob Phillips does Wade's show on Sunday mornings... I wonder if Rob didn't get the news from Wade, or maybe even Wes. I would guess the details and/or money weren't all worked out yet, but I bet that report ends up being correct.

Rob had to get from someone. I don't believe he made it up and posted it.

Jerry just does not want it announced until the press conference he is going to have with Wade later on this week.

wow, this is hilarious. if it was up on DC.com you can bet it's true. just seems that jerry wasn't ready to say so. i don't see what the big deal is though. in today's world, we always learn about things before they are "official" in the sports world.
