A 2007 article by Nicholas J. Cotsonika of the Detroit Free Press detailed Marinelli's experience via a couple of Marinelli's old Rosemead (Calif.) High School buddies.
The event occurred in 1966, the article states. Marinelli is getting ready to tackle different bears of sorts this Sunday when the Cowboys head north to face Chicago.
But nearly 50 years ago, Marinelli apparently showed no fear when dealing with bears (although it was de-clawed and muzzled).
Marinelli and two of his friends, Gary Schram and Don Gomez, were cruising down the street and saw a car dealership advertising an interesting deal: wrestle "Victor the Bear" for $10, Cotsonika wrote. The 'wrestle-the-bear' shtick was run by a Russian guy, according to Schram and Gomez

I once wrestled a sedated alligator.
Not very exciting when I saw just how sedated it was.

Now I did protect my dog on a walk from two full-grown St Bernards on the attack.

That was possibly the scariest thing to ever happen to me.
I punched one in the face as hard as I could and it didn't even budge it's massive head.

To this day I feel extremely lucky my dog and I got away fairly unscathed.
My hand got messed up pretty bad from some errant bites, but that was it. My dog didn't get touched since I cinched up his leash behind me and tangled with those monsters until their owners pulled them off.

They were so scared I was going to call the cops or sue them... I considered it, but realized those monsters could have done a lot worse if they wanted to.

Every once in a while I still have Cujo nightmares.

And my dog is a Pit- not a pansy and those beasts dwarfed us both.

I'm sure one out-weighed myself by at least 15 pounds. He looked about 180, 190...

Horrifying.

Anybody else lol?

Maybe... wait...
No. Not sedated anyways.

Well, maybe I was- hence the wrestling and not fisticuffs.
...
...
...

OK- Maybe I did wrestle some people while sedated, but I'm sure I didn't put up a very good fight... I don't remember anymore.

I'm sedated right now...

I once hooked up with a fat chick after a party and, while I don't remember everything, I recall moments when I wasn't quite sure I was going to make it through the night. #beergoggles #neardeathexperience #survival #shame

I got attacked by one of those when I was a kid. It chased me down on my bike and bit into my leg. Actually now that I think about it, I've been bitten by a Saint Bernard, Irish Setter, Great Dane (well it knocked me down and scratched me up), and 2 different wenie dogs. I might need to talk to someone about why dogs hate me so much :)
