Size: 5-11, 207
Combine 40-yard dash time: 4.49
POSITIVES
Considered one of the top strong safeties in the draft. He's an excellent open field tackler who displays good skills in run support. Chung has good instincts and quickness, things you need to play the run. Chung has the agility to play cornerback, though he is a strong safety. He is smart which is good if he needs to make the defensive calls in the secondary. Not only is Chung a solid tackler he makes hard hits.
NEGATIVES
Not very good in coverage. While he could cover a wide receiver or a tight end, don't let him do it in man coverage. Has poor footwork when he backpedals and that keeps him off balanced. He's not that big and he might get run over by tight ends and running backs, yet his tackling ability could make up for his shortcomings. Is not very good at determining where the ball is in the air.
COWBOY FIT
A smart, hard-hitting player is someone the Cowboys need. Chung is a confident player who also plays special teams and the Cowboys need strong tacklers on that unit. The Cowboys don't want to hide players anymore, they want to utilize their strengths. If Chung joins the team he would play special teams and safety in dime packages. His tackling ability also makes him a player you could use on short yardage because he's smart enough to anticipate where plays could go.
