Calvin Watkins E-mail News tips
Size: 6-3, 305 pounds
Combine 40-yard dash time: 5.33
POSITIVES
Very competitive and strong player. He played all the line spots, expect center in college, so his versatility will help him. He's better at guard where he has an excellent punch to knock away defenders. Shows good awareness in pass protection and has good feet.
NEGATIVES
Scouts were not happy with his Combine or Senior Bowl results. They thought he would be a little bit stronger. He gets pushed back too much by defenders and isn't fast enough where he has to pull and be the lead blocker.
COWBOY FIT
A versatile player such as this would do fine with the Cowboys. He's strong enough to play the inside line positions, but at tackle, he might not do so well. The Cowboys depth at offensive line isn't that strong and Levitre could come in and become a productive backup.
OREGON STATE OFFENSIVE LINE COACH MIKE CAVANAUGH
"I think he has all the tools like some other guys I've coached who are now in the NFL. I think he's athletic and has great feel and plays with intensity. He has a hellva punch best I've ever seen. The most complete player, tough, student of the game, all business. Andy can play around 305 to 335 pounds. As a sophomore he was 335 at right tackle and handled it well. He can play all the offensive line positions. Now, he doesn't have the height some people are looking for at tackle, but he makes up for it in other ways. He's the best football player technique wise I've ever seen, rated in the second or third round, from what I've been told. If he was a two inches taller he can be a first rounder. Best guy I've seen in space, getting out on screens and good body control."
