Probably not. I guess its a reminder that us fans know nothing and preseason means nothing lol. Because I see a lot of guys who did nothing and still here.

Makes me wonder if the Cowboys organization is going thru a revolution of sort....It seems their is a focus on keeping quality players and not merely based on their draft status.

Maybe we're hoping he makes it through to the practice squad. Don't want to trade a player if you hope to re-sign him.

He is valued inside the building. In here he isn't because "we" judge TE's on receptions. That is the last criteria the Cowboys use.

Exactly. Some people just make up their minds about players and then rant the Cowboys "kept the wrong guy" when they know nothing about them outside of their own opinions.

Scenario: it's week seven and Ferguson turns an ankle and is out for the last series of the game. Who would we trust to replace him right now: Schoonmaker or Trigg?

Anyone who answers Trigg has the football IQ of a pineapple.

I suspect it’s because of his draft status. If he was drafted in the fourth, no one would dislike him like they do.

Just thinking, if we stop fretting about Milton, Blue the Eagle, and the trade for Jones, this Cowboys roster as a whole looks very, very good. I feel a lot better about this team than a year ago at this time, when I was talking myself into a lot of things.

The hype feels real this time. Could just be false hope, but it feels real. Last year it was manufactured hype.

I think there's a lot of manufactured hype right now ... but that's typical. Until we see it, it's just hype.

I agree but this defensive roster just looks so much better. Swapping out Osa, Mazi, Sam Williams, Jack Sanborn, Kenneth Murray, Donovan Wilson, and Kaiir Elam for Quinnen, Clark, Gary, Miller, Winters, Barham, Downs, Durant....I mean it's night and day.

Exactly. The Cowboys tried to trade Trevor Keegan before cutting him. I have a hard time believing they didn't test the trade waters with Milton.

That's the hope. Do we know, though, that Durant is better than what we had? Or Winters? I mean, Durant was a low-cost free agent. Winters only cost us a fifth. Do we know that Gary gives us anything more than Jadeveon Clowney did? Do we know if Gary, Eze, Lawrence, Miller and Houston are going to be able to generate any more of a pass rush than last year's group? If not, then Parker is going to have to generate pressure. Doing that increases the holes in your coverage.

Osa is a good example. We paid him big money because he was our top interior lineman before we got Quinnen and Clark. We traded him for a third-round pick and picked up a cheap replacement. Does that make us better or worse? If we follow the money, it should mean we are worse, but Ogbonnia may be a better fit for what we're doing that makes us better.

Lots of unanswered questions. Is Bland what he was last year or does he come back closer to what he was at his best? Does Revel show that he would have been a first-round pick or will that just prove to be hype? Is Durant an addition who can help us or a subtraction for the Rams because they knew they needed to replace him to get better?

There's a lot that we've done that I like in theory, but until we see the evidence, we just don't know.

Man, I don’t know about our depth at OL and DL (looks like only 5DL)…unless they plan to play 4 man lines a lot and move Gary and other OLB to DE.

they kept Drew Shelton,he is arguably a worse OT than Chaz Green just because he was a 4th rd pick.

I would think of the “DL” as traditional DT’s, and the OLB as DE’s. They will have 2 “DL” on the field at a time with 2 OLB. Drop an ILB for a nickelback. Things will be fluid, having multiple looks is something CP has stressed.

Mazi, Sam Williams, Jack Sanborn, Kenneth Murray, Donovan Wilson, Diggs and Kaiir Elam are not on NFL rosters, every one of the guys we brought in would be whether with us or someone else.
