The most important thing for an owner to do is to make money. He is a money making genius. I would say he is the best ever. As fans we think success on the field is the most important because it's what we care about so fans will not think he is.Dallas Cowboys: Is Jerry Jones the greatest owner in NFL history?

The Dallas Cowboys have been a staple of mediocrity for the past 20 years but Jerry Jones’ legacy is much more than wins and losses on the football field.
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerral “Jerry” Jones Sr. purchased the team on February 25th, 1989 for $140 million. Immediately following, Jones fired two-time Super Bowl winning coach Tom Landry. And long time general manager Tex Schramm was let go as well.
After receiving much criticism for firing icons of the Cowboys organization, Jones was able to rebuild America’s Team. Within seven years of purchasing the team, the Cowboys won three Super Bowls...
While I usually agree with you and I see your point here Kraft isn't the best owner. He has benefited of having one of the best coaches ever, he was just smart enough to let Belichek do his thing.Right!? Silly question, Sarge.
Jerry is the greatest marketer but that's about it as far as platitudes and achievements go for him. And really, who cares what owner is the best at friggin' marketing.
Hire a GM (like, by title -- we all know McClay is the de facto GM) and get the hell out of the kitchen, then pull off a run like Kraft has, then we can talk.
But that ain't gonna happen.
Kraft is the best owner in the NFL right now, and probably ever, considering parity and how much he stays out of the kitchen yet supports and defers to Belichick and Co.
Fair enough, Irv. But there's gotta be something said for an owner staying out of the way while his team goes to 7 SBs and wins 5 in 17 years, in a league of parity. But point definitely taken, brudda. BB is amazing, as is TB 12While I usually agree with you and I see your point here Kraft isn't the best owner. Who cares what he's blithering done for the league. For what he's done for the league? Yes... For what he's done for his team? No.
Nobody!!Who cares what he's blithering done for the league.
Hell yeah, Boxer. Right!?Nobody!!
You are correct. Credit is given by hiring those guys then allowing them to do the job they are paid to do........God it's hard to give Kraft credit haha but I have to be honest on all thingsFair enough, Irv. I do agree about it being easier with the GOAT coach
Line drive out of the park, still rising.Fair enough, Irv. But there's gotta be something said for an owner staying out of the way while his team goes to 7 SBs and wins 5 in 17 years, in a league of parity. But point definitely taken, brudda. BB is amazing, as is TB 12

Thats about it.He's not the worst best owner and not the worst, imho. He'd could have been a better owner if he hadn't declared himself the GM. If that wasn't enough, he refused to fire himself when things went awry like any great owner would. He best accomplishments involved marketing, which was ultimately his biggest claim to fame.
