The Dallas Cowboys have a clear No. 1 wide receiver, and it's obviously no longer CeeDee Lamb.

As stated in another thread, a couple of bad games don't make a career or seasons for a player BUT as you can see, this has always been an issue for him. However, he is so damn good that it has been overlooked until he started playing with Pickens. Remember how the late John Madden used to say you have to get the great WRs involved in the game early, otherwise, they may drift on you? I will say this, that he was way too emotional on Sunday after his drops. As they say, when CBs are beaten, let it go and keep your team in the game. I'm sure he will bounce back but he needs to clean it up and stop complaining.

BTW.......In case you are wondering, Jerry Rice holds the NFL record for career drops. So it happens......

I was on the road when that play happened and my son was telling me about on the phone. After watching the replay, Dak put that ball EXACTLY where it needed to be. If he throws it further outside, the defender that flashes on the screen coming from the opposite side at WORST tips the pass. That drop is ALL on CeeDee. It’s probably a great thing they play on Thursday and this is still fresh. Won’t be surprised if CeeDee goes for over 100…
 
It seemed like they were trying to force CeeDee the ball early and the offense didn't move. The offense took off when Pickens started making plays. CeeDee does struggle when the ball is not right on target but I've also seen him make great plays as well.

I think he's better when he doesn't have time to think about it. When he has to make an acrobatic catch, he seems to make it. Maybe it's my imagination, or maybe I just recall those plays more.
 
Let's just call it is what it is, the Eagles have his number!!!!!


I'm sure the next several games we'll see him catch everything!!
 
If he has 35 drops since 2020, then let it be noted 20% of those drops came in two games this year against the Eagles. To me that means his drops are not a consistent problem. He just has games where he loses concentration. Unfortunately for him two games this year were against the Eagles. The Cowboys could have beaten the Eagles twice this year.

I am starting to think Pickens' success in Dallas and all the attention he is getting is possibly a reason why CeeDee is dropping all those passing. He is trying to take the spotlight back and it is causing him to make mistakes. I have no issue with CeeDee personally. I remember the last time he was dropping passes he stayed after practice and caught passes from the jugs machine. If he puts in the effort, and I hope he does, then I give him a pass. He made a few nice catches yesterday to help the Cowboys.

But then I think of the money Jerry paid him. If you want that kind of money, you cannot be dropping passes in big games, especially TD passes.

You hit the nail on the head.

Lamb was the alpha. Now with GP being the alpha, lamb is trying to keep up
 
If this was the MLB rather than the NFL, you would say Lamb has the "yips". Why that's happening is anyone's guess.

Lamb has historically shown a good work ethic and dedication to his craft. I hope he can work through this, because a fully functioning Lamb and Pickens are a nightmare for and DC.
 
Lamb is a headcase, and Dak forces the ball to him. Dak is 100 percent more comfortable throwing to Pickens without feeling like he has to force it to Lamb.

Lamb should be traded honestly.
 
Far be it from me to critic a NFL star receiver, but Ceedee does not use his hands correctly. He either allows the ball to get in on his body or allows the ball to touch his “palms” before his fingers. A would hope a coach has noticed this as well and tries to rectify it.
