Shotty mentioned figuring out Hoffman's place because he can play both OG n C. Coach was sounded very sure about Beebe at C tho. If Beebe does play C the battle at RG should be a good one.

Every time we talk about center, I am reminded how terrible people on the board say the T-Fred pick was ... some even saying that he would be much better at guard. Hilariously, when Brian Waters signed, he spent a ton of time with T-Fred, the rookie, teaching him the offense and blocking schemes.

Those thinking there would be any change are those forgetting that the boys drafted Beebe for the center position and he will have to prove he cannot do it before they move him.

Really dumb thing for those wanting for him to switch positions after only one year there.

Noting from any team source indicated the boys were disappointed with his play

I feel sure keeping Cooper Beebe at center turns out to be a good idea from start to finish.

He'll most likely do nothing but improve, with the additional experience that he'll get in the future.

If the experiment had failed then maybe… but by all accounts it went better than and exceeded expectations for someone who had never played the position. The concept of moving him now, after investing an entire season developing him is mind bogglingly silly. Three potential guards currently on the team… draft another in the 3rd to 5th if you’re worried. There’s no reason or incentive to go through a 2nd consecutive season developing another rookie at center!

There are a number of needs on the Dallas Cowboys roster at the moment. We can sit here and fairly note that wide receiver, cornerback, pass rusher or anywhere along the offensive line are positions that could/should be addressed near the top of the NFL Draft. That feels fair.

I really like having a powerful center who can hold his own against nose tackles. Often, center is the weakest player, so he needs help-blocks or is used for help-blocking instead of isos. Defenses try to figure out ways to isolate the center so they can push or walk him back to the QB. Because Beebe doesn't need any help with power, this allows the guards to give more help to the tackles to their inside.

Beebe should develop into a top center in the league before long.

Instead of trying to win while players like him are on rookie deals, start saving now for cap room to keep him years down the road.

That plan has worked well….be sure to keep everyone who has proven to not be enough and claim there’s no means to improve beyond them.
