Dallas Cowboys' plan is to keep Cooper Beebe at center

To me, it's guard. He should be left at guard. Seems like they are forcing him to be a center.
Yeah,
I thought the game had passed Solari by myself. I was not comfortable with most all of his oline decisions personnel wise or scheme to be honest.
I hope the new guy brings a fresh modern approach that optimizes all of the oline's individual and collective talents.

So did I. I got a lot of their games. He was a good guard, nasty. That's what I saw. It's not scientific. That ok there professor?

But it is scientific. His lack of arm length will limit him at OG in the pros. He's not a quick twitch guy and will have trouble w/ having guys slip away from him.

At C, his weaknesses won't be a problem.

He's not better and dominant at OG. And he showed zero signs of being a liability at C. His play there was impressive.
I'm far away from saying that Beebe was a liability overall, but I do think he had some aspects of his game that were a liability. Mostly his ability to block at the 2nd level. I do think a move to G would let him do the things he is good at more often, and limit his exposure of being on the move. His reach does create some concerns at G, but overall I think he is a good enough player to overcome that if he kicked out.

Every good OL starts w/ a dominant C. He's dominant there. Moving him would be foolish.

I'm of the opposite ilk. I think being at C is what allows him to do the things he is good at more often.

That's what I meant but you said it better than I.

The new guy knows Cooper best and whatever he does with the line, I trust. Solari wasn't good at evaluating his guys.

Can't believe how easy it is to fix the line for the next several years yet stubbornly they fall back on position flex . Just start cooper Bebee at LG, Hoffman at center, kick Smith to LT, make Steele the swing, Guyton the RT. Bass can fight it out in camp for rg with Thomas ,Richards etc. it's not complicated. Got a hunch the new line coach will agree
This all makes more sense to me too. That's one thing from last year. They are overthinking the offensive line and I couldn't figure out why.

They pretty much forced Guyton, who is a beast at RT, to LT.

You can instantly make this team better just by moving your best OL to LT. You have a super star RT, use him at his position....

Plus,.Tyler Smith is also a darn good LT. That's where his value is whether Dakota likes it or not.

you do not take someone who is ALL PRO and move them to where they are much less
YOU JUST DON'T

Agree with the first sentence, but we disagree on the second. I think Beebe was very good for a rookie, and has some dominant traits, but his performance overall was pretty average. I'm still a fan and think his ceiling is as high as you'll find for a 3rd round player, but he is someone I worry about a little bit if we are adopting some of Klayton Adams OL concepts.

That's just not necessarily true.

Here's what's being said about Beebe:

"Playing center for the first time in his career, looks like the answer."

And: "Beebe didn't look like a rookie or a first time center, but a foundational piece...."

I've seen absolutely nothing negative about his play at C, and a ton of positive.

So, where are you guys getting this that he'd be better suited at OG? Just preconceived notions, maybe? Because it just doesn't make sense.

Hoffman came into the league as a UFA OL w/ CLEV, really hasn't shown much of anything up to this point. How in the world is someone thinking he's a better option at C? Hoffman is a depth piece, not starting material.

Love Bebee, nasty mauler. I just happen to trust the new line coach more than Solari because who knows CB better? He's a good center, but feel he's an all pro guard. But again, whatever the new coach decides is fine by me.
