I know the emphasis on jersey numbers can be silly but it matters to a lot of people, and the players in particular.

Even as fans the numbers have significance. 8 is forever associated with Aikman. 22 for Emmitt. 94 makes me recall D-Ware. And so on.

I agree. If he has a great season the franchise tag is also in play just to keep him around for 2026 and see what happens.
