The position of "Quality Control" coach is a fairly new position. It is one of the most under-utilized but yet one of the most important in the NFL. Just what are his responsibilities?

The position of Quality Control Coach is fairly new to the NFL and has been credited to Mike Holmgren as being it's founder. It is one of the most important yet seldom talked about positions in the NFL. When we as fans look at how well or how poorly a game plan has gone, we blame the Head Coach, but part of that blame should go to the Quality Control Coach. For the Cowboys, that person is Ben Bloom.

"Mike Holmgren created the NFL quality control coach when he was a San Francisco 49ers assistant under Bill Walsh" -

Interesting article. Thanks for posting.

I can honestly say I had no idea what the Quality Control coach did. If you would have gave me 3 guesses, none of them would have been right.
