Well, it's comforting that the brain trust used the off season to fully evaluate the situation & come up with "simplify". Guess there just isn't enough time during a 17 week season to come up with "simplify".

The run game needs to just be faster, in general.

But the biggest problem - for years - has been running the ball in disadvantageous situations. Only running when they have a numbers advantage is really the only change that matters.

The run game still comes back to the Oline so hopefully that mess is cleaned up

I think the team wanted to be more physical in the run game. When you look at the OL drafted the last couple of years, it is easy to see that they wanted a more physical type player. All of our RB currently are more physical than explosive runners. I think the intent is to beat the D into submission during the game, so those 2.5-3 yard runs in the first half become 5-7 yard runs in the second. Shorten the game and set up the passing game for big hits in the second half.

It's an interesting quote and sadly I think it's an accurate one. Looking back to 2023 where the Cowboys really struggled was blocking at the 2nd level. Changing the reds/keys is probably a needed adjustment, but one that probably could and should have been made mid season last year. The inability to do so is concerning.

I’m far from an XO expert, but this much I know….

Our offense appears to be very predictable at times. There were instances in which I’d have sworn the defense knew exactly what play was being run….

Yet I continue to hear the term “simplify.”

Yup. This has been an issue for over a decade. It's as if they have 1 play per formation with very little misdirection. It is not too often they execute a successful play and we say we didn't see that coming.
