I don't think he hikes the ball...Bring back Zeke!
Scouts are probably checking Vegas lockups as we talk... They are centers of attention there.

No. The two practice squad guys are ... as bad as they might be. I think we hope that Bass might be before the end of the season, but Hoffman most likely will be called up to serve that role Sunday.TJ Bass is the backup center
Wish Gallimore had been dropped and Land kept instead.Bohana took the fall this year. Gholston is buried and I am not so sure Gallimore stays on the roster all season tbh.
Cowboys have journeyman Sean Harlow and 2nd year squad player Brock Hoffman as backup Centers. They both are on the practice squad. Only 1 would get called up, but you need to create the roster spot to be able to move him up.OK, bet then...which one gets called up for Sunday's game?
3 call ups possible from practice squad and returnCowboys have journeyman Sean Harlow and 2nd year squad player Brock Hoffman as backup Centers. They both are on the practice squad. Only 1 would get called up, but you need to create the roster spot to be able to move him up.
When was the last time the Cowboys took a gamble and cut their back-up center? No. The two practice squad guys are ... as bad as they might be. I think we hope that Bass might be before the end of the season, but Hoffman most likely will be called up to serve that role Sunday.
Last year, Dallas put its second- and third-string quarterbacks on the practice squad initially. Fans need to stop looking at the PS as something separate from the 53. Teams use it as an extension of the roster now, cutting players that are likely to make it to the practice squad, because they can call them up to the roster for gamedays. When was the last time the Cowboys took a gamble and cut their back-up center?
Hmmm it was an honest question that got NO answer...Last year, Dallas put its second- and third-string quarterbacks on the practice squad initially. True, but in order to be moved up for gamedays, a team must cut a player from its 53 man roster in order to make room for the practice squad player temporarily moved up.Last year, Dallas put its second- and third-string quarterbacks on the practice squad initially. They do not have to cut anyone from the 53. That's not part of the rule. Not sure what you're thinking of.True, but in order to be moved up for gamedays, a team must cut a player from its 53 man roster in order to make room for the practice squad player temporarily moved up.
Maybe you were thinking about the active roster, which can only be 48 players, plus an emergency QB?True, but in order to be moved up for gamedays, a team must cut a player from its 53 man roster in order to make room for the practice squad player temporarily moved up.
It is if the team wants to make active during gamedays a practice squad player more than 3 times in a season. They do not have to cut anyone from the 53. That's not part of the rule. Not sure what you're thinking of.
That's a different story. They have two centers on the PS. That gives them six activations before they have to make any decision concerning the position. Technically, since neither of these guys are anything special, they can just use the activations, add another center to the PS and keep doing it. The call-ups change how the PS roster is viewed. I mean, we stashed C.J. Goodwin there to call him up for a few games before having to find a place for him. Injuries happen and you stick the injured player on short-term IR and fill the spot with a PS player, so you have a good supply of players to work with unless you need a player at a specific position. It is if the team wants to make active during gamedays a practice squad player more than 3 times in a season.
That comes into being game day...as implied.Hmmm it was an honest question that got NO answer...
Back-up center??
Risner is a free agent because he's sucked the last couple of years and he's also another unathletic guard that is a poor fit for outside zone.Free agent offensive linemen still available:
Offensive Line
Don’t try to understand why Dalton Risner is still a free agent. You’ll just end up looking like the meme of people with mathematical equations spinning around their heads. The other interior blockers on the list are of the backup variety, or they are at or approaching their mid-30s.
1) Ben Jones
2) Dalton Risner
3) Rodney Hudson
4) Rodger Saffold
5) Austin Blythe
