We did tie another NFL record yesterday for most 1 point losses during the regular season with 3
IRVING, Texas -- With Sunday’s 37-36 loss to the Green Bay Packers, the Dallas Cowboys made history.
Maybe not quite the history of allowing more yards in a game in franchise history twice in a span of three games. Maybe not as bad as allowing an NFL-record 40 first downs to the New Orleans Saints. Maybe not as bad as seeing five quarterbacks throw four touchdown passes against them this season.
The one-point loss to the Packers was the Cowboys’ third of the season, tying them for the most one-point losses in a single season in NFL history, according to ESPN Stats & Information. They lost 17-16 to the Kansas City Chiefs and 31-30 to the Detroit Lions.
Perhaps that will factor into any decision Jerry Jones makes regarding a coaching change. He can say the Cowboys were just three points away from being a true contender if they fail to make the playoffs for the fourth straight season. Just because it is a fact, doesn’t make it true.
