If you don't think Jerry and company are trying to put together a winning team you're out of your mind. Jerry loves the glitz and glamour but all of that would be amplified times 10 if we were able to consistently make it to the conference finals or even the super bowl. He knows that. He's experienced that. You better believe he wants to get back in that position.

It's been over 20 years...and everything but the results and the chair he sits in has changed.

The sad thing is they would be worth so much more if they actually won

Instead they act like a small market team, pinching pennies, using coupons and only signing value guys

Josh Norman was available for nothing but money and we didn't make a phone call

We are 8 years into the Garrett era and ESPN just ranked us 26th

What's it going to be then, eh?

Trying is nice, but only abject failure as a business will ever get him to stop what he is doing that does not work.

As long as the cash is rolling in, his desire to win can take a back seat when convenient. He is no different than anyone else, if the business is doing well, it eases the pain.

anyone else sick of hearing about how much the cowboys are worth as if it means anything to fans or actual football?

I seemingly can not turn on my local news without one of the sports reporters mentioning how much the stadium or that dreadfully named "star" complex costs.

Who cares? This family loves to tell everyone how much it spends on everything. I don't get it.

nope. not at all.

Apparently you missed the fact that being the world's most valuable franchise doesn't really benefit the fans and certainly doesn't translate into wins, something that would actually be good news.

Is this what it's become for us? We have to take silly things like the value of the franchise as our "good news"?

Once you are in the 3 Comma Club things like football become less important

I guess my take like others have posted we are still Americas Team...in the dead space of summer you take what u can get and yes while it may be unrelated to the team itself it is still good news nonetheless....I would go on to tell you how great Zeke is going to be but I believe that topic has been discussed in length....

The Cowboys have a business model now that doesn't include signing big name FA's. That isn't something new it's been going on for a while now. We will never know how successful we would have been last year but clearly things looked pretty good in 2014.

I love it that we have a nice stadium and nice practice facilities. Once the star and all the entertainment/ hotels have been completed the Cowboys worth will rise even further. Good job

I would rather the Cowboys be the 32 most valuable franchise in the NFL and compete for Super Bowls every year. Jerrys wealth doesn't mean squat to me.

I don't care how much they make, as long as they want to finance a real coach & spend the CAP.

However, they really don't care about winning, they care about real-estate and role playing at the GM level with a patsy garanimals coach. FIGHT!

They steal from Tom's and Jimmy's legacy....they are ponzi frauds.

Using all your resources doesn't have to mean spending big on a few FAs but it does mean maxing out the cap and spending as much as you can on talent in general

In 2014 if we spend to limit maybe we get Peppers and go to the SB and few million for a backup QB would have really helped last year

I know the team can generally do no wrong to most around here but I think they could do a lot more....we don't win any divisions for best cap mangement

If only we there were no salary cap we could outspend everyone and have 20 SB trophies!!

If there was no salary cap, even richer owners like Paul Allen (Seahawks), who make Jerry Jones look positively middle-class, would outspend everyone and win 20 SB trophies!!!

Same ol story for the last 20years....only thing the Cowboys win at...is making money for the Jones....some fans drink the koolaid and some are just worn out by all the losing. Football is a business for the Jones.....A whole generation fans have never seen the Cowboys in Superbowl...

In Dallas you follow the money....not the trophies...

To be fair, in this league, you can make all the right moves and still lose largely due to circumstances beyond your control. Ball bounces, health, and weather have no respect for good choices. Furthermore, with each coaching change, your looking at a change both schematically and in personnel as the new coach tries to bring in guys that our a better fit. Not saying Jerry is without fault - far from it. His whifs, gafs, and pure stupidity with certain things he says and does makes you truly wonder how he ever succeeded otherwise in life. But here lately he has finally started to let go and listen. Sure, there have been poor decisions but overall I like the direction of the team.
