I am still not sold on the Vikings. Their schedule has been cupcake city so far.

They got the best oline in the league, best RB in the league, an all time great @ QB who is well protected, and a very solid group of receivers.

Their defense doesn't have much weakness either and their D Line is incredible.

They are a well built physical team and IMO the best NFC team as of today. Even better than New Orleans.

Amen. Still like them to get off the field on 3rd down a little better.

#5 Defense in pts allowed..How many sacks did we get against the skins?

Still having to blitz to get the sacks though, and the skins hit some nice plays that became available when we blitzed.

I like the direction and intensity of the offense, but we need more pressure without having to blitz all the time.

The Giants' defense is awesome. Did you see how they shut down the Falcons in overtime?

I heard that the Falcons actually won the coin toss and elected to kick, just so they didn't have to face the Giants defense... is this true? :lmao:

Yeah, it was almost like they never even had the ball...

Really not sold on them yet. For having a D without much weakness, they sure have given up enough points to poor teams. They've played guys who are 31st, 30th, 24th (twice), 22nd, and 19th in PPG. That's more than half their games, compared to four they've played against decent Os (15th, 12th, 8th twice).

Of course the Cowboys have played plenty of crap offenses too (29th, 27th, 26th, 25th, 23rd, and 22nd), but we've also played more highly ranked Os. Atlanta (9th), Greenbay (8th), Philly (7th), and New York (6th) taken together are tougher competition than who Minnesota has played.

Despite this, Dallas has let one team put up more than 30 on them (NYG) and 3 teams 20 (TB, KC, ATL). Minnesota? They've also let one team put up more than 30 (BAL), but they've had five games against four teams (CLE, SF, PIT, GB twice) where they allowed more than 20.

I am just loving the way we are shutting down the run. Other than Cartrights long one they could do nothing on the ground.

Same with Green Bay.

Kind of, yes...but not much different than ours.
As far as decent offenses....
They've had GB twice, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore
We've had GB, NYG, Philly, and Atlanta
.

Combined opponent records:

Dallas: 43-57
Minnesota: 36-64

So maybe not, but we have absolutely played better Os. Pittsburgh is ranked 15th on scoring, that is decent but not much more. Minnesota has played exactly one top 10 scoring O and they have the advantage of having their ex-QB.

I hear you, but I was referring to the better offenses that both teams have faced. I'd still say they've both had 4 games vs respectable offenses, but agree that maybe Dallas' 4 are slighty tougher.

Like you, I look at scoring offenses too but in the official total offense rankings....

Dallas has faced the : 4th, 7th, 11th, and 14th
Minny has faced the : 6th, 7th, 7th, and 13th.

There is not much difference there in my opinion.

Don't forget Igor. You can pretty much forget about running his way lately.

Yeah. Jerry did some good moves in the off season this year bringing in Sensabaugh, Brooking, and Olshansky. And you're right - running to Igor's side is like running into barbed wire - you get stuck, it hurts, and it really, really sucks :laugh2:

Thing is, aside from Sensabaugh (who is a Joe D guy) those guys were all Wade players. Joe Decamillis himself is a Wade Phillips guy. Give credit to JJ for getting them in here, but give credit to Wade for getting him to do so.

Lovin' the D!

LoL so a crappy peformance against one of the worst offenses in the nFL makes this defense championship caliber? What a joke.

He's a beast isn't he? I wasn't expecting that at all but he's stood out the past month or so. Gets really low and is involved in just about everything to his side.
