Here's a little Vegas secret. They don't care who wins or loses.. They make a commission on the losing bets. So they get more action if they favor Dallas. When the money comes in on Carolina then the odds will even out. And they make money on whoever wins or loses..

They make money on the overall action (the juice). Their goal is to even bets on both sides where the money flows evenly from one side to another. Either way, Vegas gets paid win, lose, or draw.

Nah, it just means exuberant cowboy fans are over betting on the Cowboys and Vegas is trying to balance the action, they don't care who wins, they just want equal action on both sides

You missed the sarcasm. His point was oddsmaker are pretty razor sharp when it comes to setting lines. Yes money causes the movement but it did not open at 2 because of that.

This is a playoff game for Dallas, to Carolina it's not as big. They know Dallas has more to play for.

If we beat Carolina it will be an upset---no matter what they say !!!!

Not really.

We are talking about Thanksgiving Day,bros.

I can't remember the last time we were not favored then.

I was at the first one back in '66 when we beat the Cleveland Browns.

In my mind..that was the greatest game I ever attended.

Jim Brown was just devastating at RB and Frank Collins was a Cowboy Killer at WR and Franke Ryan was a great QB for them..he was a Dr. as I recall.

But Meredith, Lilly, Dan Reeves and Don Perkins and Mel Renfro were their equals and we fans gladly postponed dinner till after we got home from the game.

I was only about 14 and I clearly remember my older brother had just bought a VCR recorder and set the timer up for the first time to record the game while we were gone.

What a party as we all rushed into rewind the tape and actually saw a Cowboy replayed game for the first time!

We turned the TV toward the table and all stayed up past midnight watching the replay..rolling the tape back on the big play and doing slow-mo..

All fun memories.

Thanksgiving and the Cowboys has been an institution since then and I really look forward to Thursday after enduring this season.

Go Cowboys!

It's a time to be thankful.

Vegas isn't stupid. They are aware the team that will take the field in that game doesn't resemble the one that went 0-7.

The Cowboys will win and cover.

So what are you saying about all of the people who did think that was the same team?

Vegas knows a Romo-fueled juggernaut when it sees one. One game to shake off the rust, then another to show this mid-season version of the Cowboys is ready to contend for the NFC East championship with a Turkey Day beatdown of the oh-so-lucky-so-far Panthers and the refs who will be wearing Panther tee-shirts under their zebra stripes.

The Cowboys are most likely losing this game. When was the last time the Cowboys won on Thanksgiving?

The Panthers are winning this game. It usually happens like this on Turkey Day. It's got me so confused that I think America's Team, The Dallas Cowboys...lose on purpose, just to give all the jealous teams fans something to be thankful for...while us Cowboy fans just laugh or cry.

I'm glad they got a win today. It's going to be easy next Thursday. Good luck.

Dallas beats a middle of the pack team and now all the sudden they're favored to beat a top 3 team? Haha

dallas does like to stop teams winning streaks though. Hopefully they can get it together and make it a game on thursday.

The Cowboys (with the exception of a Brandon Weeden led effort against the patriots) seem to play well against undefeated teams.

Why are people surprised? This is a better team than Carolina when both teams are healthy.. Line will change by Thursday and it will be a pick em.

Here's what I'm hoping... Carolina comes in cocky knowing they are facing a 3-7 team, and the Cowboys come hungry. We do tend to play up to good teams.

Vegas is not dumb, they are banking there will be heavy Panther money based on that line.
Something tells me they do actually think the Boys win that game.

Based upon some discussion I've had with some serious bettors, there appears to be an opinion that the line will actually move towards and hang around 3.

How many times have you seen a line that appeared to be way off only to end almost exactly with that margin? These guys are so good it's scary.
