Dallas Goedert has got to be so Pissed

I don't know if Dallas was really going to take him but you know that if he was named after the Cowboys, he had to be a big fan and he was a trade up away from possibly being picked by the Cowboys.

If it were me, I think I would want to know because that would be disgusting to have to play for the Eagles in that situation.

And poor Hernandez, who I think was a lifelong Cowboys fan goes to the Giants!

That's what many people don't understand. The Cowboys had spent months on their draft strategy and deviating from that a day or two before the draft would be a huge mistake. I do not believe for one moment the Cowboys had any intention of drafting Goedert with the next pick. Drafting a possible starting lineman is way more important to their offensive scheme than a pass-catching tight-end.

The Cowboys offense values blocking tight-ends more than pass catching tight-ends. The only reason Witten has caught a lot of passes has been because he was really good at it. If Witten had retired last year, Swaim, Hanna, Gathers, etc. would not have caught 50+ passes because the offense would have focused on other players for passes.

Think I read on Twitter that some Philly fans have already started up one of those Fund Me type of pages to get the money to have his first name changed...like he would do that even for money lol

This is one of those things where the truth will never be known. Of course the Cowboys are going to say he wasn't their guy...even if he may have been. As for the Eagles moving up...it wasn't just the Cowboys they jumped. They also jumped the Colts who now have a former Eagles coach as their HC. They could easily have believed Reich wanted Dallas Goedert too.

The bottom line is the whole truth will never be known...only speculated about. It looks like both teams made very solid picks in that round.
