Dallas has 10 selections over seven rounds, tied for second-most in NFL

That is a HUGE distortion of the picture. The Cowboys have 5 selection in the last 2 rounds.

So they have 5 picks in the first 5 rounds. Sounds completely different saying it that way.
Go split your hairs with USA today.
10 means 10. Unless you are in Bizarro World, in which 10 means 5.
Heh.

That could be translated as the Cowboys losing more talented players to free agency before last season without compensating by signing free agents to replace them.

That's not a very notable distinction.

well given that they have a bazillion holes in their roster they can take fliers on guys with huge upside and not worry about them taking up a roster spot for someone more deserving. (I'm a glass half full kinda guy :muttley:)

And how many do they have in the first 4 rounds?

If they are smart they do everything possible to trade 6th for next years 5th, etc.

No way all those picks are making the team, although it does help with not having to chase UDFA.

What they need is to deal down in the first for a future first (or start using free agency) but that’s a different conversation.
