Even a small trade down is worth a late 3rd. Just 2-3 spots.Best to trade down to get that 4th round pick, or better yet, a 3rd round.
Elam and Murray are far better than a late round pick. They can step in and help right away. Even start. Not necessarily disagreeing. But what “players they traded a few late round picks for” are you referencing?
What is it fans and the media are supposed to take into consideration? I’m assuming you mean Joe Milton as “NFL ready”?
He also had SB caliber defenses to help. That goes a long way to a teams success. He’s been to a Super Bowl, two NFCCGs…and he’s not getting $60 million AAV. The Cowboys could do worse than another “Purdy” type QB.
He won’t get Dak’s payday. He also had SB caliber defenses to help. That goes a long way to a teams success.
He will get his payday.
That was on Jerry. Whatever he gets from SF may not be that high. But will still be significant. He won’t get Dak’s payday.
A bunch of 6th & 7th round picks typically amount to Jack squat. That is a HUGE distortion of the picture. The Cowboys have 5 selection in the last 2 rounds.
Your response is an indictment of Jerry. Other teams can make deep playoff runs with less than elite quarterbacks. Jerry can’t. It is every Cowboys fans’ cross to bear. That was on Jerry. Whatever he gets from SF may not be that high. But will still be significant.
However it will be used against Dak by some on here for a comparison. We all know how that goes.
Is Dak worth that, no. I wish they would have never given him that deal. As I said that is on Jerry.
Purdy is a product of a great system, surrounding players on both sides of the ball, an well coached, as Garappolo did well in that offense also.
yes hence the reason they have SO MANY NOW!!! SheeshRight now, Dallas is project to have 1 comp pick. They were at 3. But signed a few players that offset players they lost.
So are they truly concerned over comp picks?
The problem is who is doing the pickings and we all know who that is.More shots to get lucky at least,
Just the way it works out at times.yes hence the reason they have SO MANY NOW!!! Sheesh
lol you're the one that made it seem like it was a bad thing, I could care less, but we just seem to love to stockpile them. Don't get on my bad side today young man, it's Saturday the weather is nice, and that friend of mine is nowhere to be found!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Just the way it works out at times.
You act like it is horrible to get comp picks.
Not signing FA’s is not a draft strategy. Just to get comp picks. It is just they don’t overpay.
Fans want them to pay big money for a few FA”s. Then turn around and say how stupid they are for giving out big contracts.
Which way do you want it?
Or is it just another way to complain.
Sheeesh
There’s young QBs that can do what he did with a great roster around them. Jayden Daniels was terrific last season. Purdy didn’t carry SF. He had a great roster around him enabling him to manage games. When it’s been thrown on him he’s struggled. There are quarterbacks that can't do what Purdy did. In today's NFL all you can ask for is for the QB to play good with a solid roster around him. Very few can carry a team today.
Could Dak?There’s young QBs that can do what he did with a great roster around them. Jayden Daniels was terrific last season. Purdy didn’t carry SF. He had a great roster around him enabling him to manage games. When it’s been thrown on him he’s struggled.
That’s already been answered. If he had a defense his rookie we could have gone far. If you’re looking to turn this into a Dak argument, find someone else.Could Dak?
Yes. What I was saying is that there are QBs that can't do that regardless of roster. Purdy didn't carry his team, and most QBs in this league can't do that. Just be happy when you can get a QB than can play well with a good roster around them. All QBs can't do that. There’s young QBs that can do what he did with a great roster around them. Jayden Daniels was terrific last season. Purdy didn’t carry SF. He had a great roster around him enabling him to manage games. When it’s been thrown on him he’s struggled.
Yeah I don't really care about the 6th and 7th rounds. Camp bodies, projects.. odds are they never come to fruition. That is a HUGE distortion of the picture. The Cowboys have 5 selection in the last 2 rounds.
So they have 5 picks in the first 5 rounds. Sounds completely different saying it that way.
I assume you’re saying “yes”.That’s already been answered. If he had a defense his rookie we could have gone far. If you’re looking to turn this into a Dak argument, find someone else.
