Regular season wins mean jack, even Stephen Jones at the combine admitted that the team needed to do more to get over the hump.

Do you honestly think if we would have beat SF that kellen Moore and half a dozen other coaches would have been shown the door?

Of course not.
I wonder who will win this year? The Eagles or the Cowboys?

Lol, a 6 point loss isn't predetermined in advance. They could have easily won the 49er game even after playing consecutive games on the road and having short rest.
Like Bill Parcells once said, losing games by one score just means you are not good enough.

Even Stephen Jones seems to have realized this and hence his comments about needing to do more to get over the hump.

See, this is the problem.................the goal is not win the division, we are not the Lions or Browns and hang banners for winning the division.

The goal and only goal should be to advance beyond the Divisional Round in 2023.

Why do you think Big Mike took over play calling, you think it had anything to do with the fact that he is entering the 4th year of his 5 year contract and he knows he aint getting an extension if we dont advance to a NFCCG this year or next.

If the goal was just to win the division, Jason Garrett would still be here. He won the division many times but like I said, that aint the goal here and Big Mike knows it as well.

I reached out to Karen Gillan one time.

She did not respond.
Never known she existed before your post.
Googled her -- never seen ANY of her movies - but that lets you know 21st century cinema ain't my thing.
On a scale of 1 to 10....I'd rate her an 8.

Stephen: "Hey, Bobby. How you doin?"

Bobby: "Good."

Stephen: "Want to come to Dallas for the veteran minimum?"

Bobby: "No thanks."

Stephen: "We had to try."

Later .. Stephen Jones to media: "We tried to upgrade our team with him, but we could not work out the details in a way that would fit with our plans for the future."

I’m going to go ahead and agree that they are “a tick away,” for argument sake.

It’s the fact that they seem unwilling to do what needs to be done for that “tick” is the frustrating part for most.

You’ll certainly agree that they need to make certain moves to get better. Let’s see if they do or not.

They don’t really seem to want to sign anyone unless it’s a bargain. Sometimes you’ve gotta pony up the cash and balls to get over the hump.

Are you confident that they will…or are even capable?

Was he any good last season?

This reeks of a player on the wrong side of his prime trying to get one more big pay day.

Dumb only if one is purely directionally biased. Henry would match up with Pollard greatly. Henry is at the top level of his production at present. He would force all defenses to have to commit to him, specifically. He would slow down and wear down all teams come the second half. Mix thar with the dynamics of Pollard, and running would become a truly top shelf dynamic, immediately. That is comparing to the real world in today's NFL.

Elliott could be made a June 1 cut, and clear up, what, $8-10M and help to pay for change...

Hopkins is the NFL norm now, for teams during the off seasons. He could be acquires with s 2nd and a future draft pick.

Wagner would only come on a Dallas favorable contract, but for multiple years,

That can be done...and Jerry Jones remembers how to overcome when truly trying to overcome those final pieces. Not stupidly or not beyond being an advantage gaining direction. This could overcome even Philadelphia, and not in a day dream.
no just one hundred % a truly terrible idea

yes a dumb idea

no need for paragraph defensing a truly dumb suggestions. Sorry its a fact and not happening, cap says its too much, Henrys age, and in need of draft capital and high cap hit says not,

just NOT let it go not even on the FO radar nor should it be,.

you draft a fresh RB to go with pollard and malik that it easy PZ ,done..now fix LG get Steele back and MM run designs and play calls will make this a better backfield this year..

Sometimes the best team does not always win! Did Parcells say that? He should have.
His Giants won a Super Bowl vs a better team( Buffalo).

We were very evenly matched vs the Whiners. That being said we need a good draft, FA and possibly a trade to OVER TAKE the Whiners!

Don't worry, as demonstrated, one doesn't iserve as an expert on potential and roads taken. One does qualify for having an opinion and stereotyping that.

Always buying something such as only draft picks can be a vice as well. Not seeing strength in war hardened players and what they add to the mix, is naive.

Elliott no longer has the breakaway speed he did in his first few seasons, but he scored 12 times in 2022, tied for eighth in the league.

He also was one of the best short-yardage converters at the position; both of those skills are highly valuable. It’s not worth $10.9 million in base salary though, and it appears everyone knows and is willing to except that number will need to go down.

https://cowboyswire.usatoday.com/lists/cowboys-cap-space-2023-proposed-moves/

Make a June 1 release a source of money to pay Henry's current salary of around $10.5 M, but his veteran production levels are still top shelf....self elevating with little cap exchange. Stupid?

This free agency has lots of good parts this year, and a team that grabs the bull by the horns, can actually build a Super Bowl team.
