From Silver Star digest, hasnt McBriar been solid enough in his first season and don't we have enough holes to worry about than to worry about an possible upgrade at punter?

Cowboys Show Interest in One More
By Roy Philpott
Date: Feb 1, 2005

SilverStarDigest uncovers another prospect the Cowboys talked to last week in Mobile, AL.

Coming off a 6-10 season, no part of the Dallas Cowboys will go unchanged this offseason.

From quarterback to the defensive line to the secondary, hardly a soul on the 53-man roster can rest easy this offseason.

And obviously, that also holds true for the coaching staff. The Cowboys have already started changing the complexion of their entire team, starting with the firing of three assistant coaches, and the addition of former Syracuse headman Paul Pasqualoni.

The organization has also started scouting for the 2005 NFL Draft, with those efforts being jumpstarted last week during the Senior Bowl in Mobile, AL.

SilverStarDigest has already reported on a handful of prospects the Cowboys talked to during last week's practice sessions, including Virginia Tech's Jim Davis and LSU's Marcus Spears.

However, as we wrap up our Senior Bowl coverage, we will present you with one more player today, and one more player later this week that we received additional information after last week's festivities came to a close.

One player we learned about on Sunday that appeared to peak the Cowboys' interest was Tennessee Punter Dustin Colquitt.

Team official spoke with Colquitt before leaving the Mobile, AL area last week.

Colquitt has been one of the top punters in the country for the last two years. As a junior, Colquitt was named a consensus All-America and was one of three Ray Guy Award finalists for second straight year. More importantly, he led SEC and ranked sixth nationally with 45.3-yard punting average.

Stay tuned to SilverStarDigest.com later this week, as we unveil one the last known prospect the Cowboys spoke with in Mobile.

that's scary. While I don't think the Boys would sacrifice some of their more pressing needs to draft a punter... I'll leave you with this... Last year, the first punter taken was drafted with the 87th pick (3rd round) and he was not as good as the afforementioned Colquitt.

McBriar was one of our best players this past season... and we got him for next to nothing. Maybe this Colquitt can play FS?

Parcells plan was to fire Hoffman, cut McBriar and keep Cundiff.
