Man just had to fill up a couple of my cars with gas, but the lines where 9 cars deep for each pump. Dallas is running low on gas. Go get it now guys

- I'm good all my vehicles are filled up and a buddy of mine got two 15 gallon tanks of extra gas for us just in case.
- We also got a couple of cases of water, a water purifier, and a bunch of weapons just in case it gets crazy

It's basically a few screaming people run by, other people see them and think they must have a good reason to be running, so more people join them, then people see there are now more people running by so they join them and before you know, everyone is running and not a single one even knows why.No. People think that the supply is low and filling up.
Gas companies can then raise prices.
Do you think the gas companies were asleep when the weather forecast came in?
There is more than enough gas in pipelines and storage to cover 2 plus months.
I would hate to ever experience an actual shortage of gas or water. I think people would likely kill you for it.It's basically a few screaming people run by, other people see them and think they must have a good reason to be running, so more people join them, then people see there are now more people running by so they join them and before you know, everyone is running and not a single one even knows why.
People create a shortage out of fear. Rumors start, then the media reports on the lines, so more people go get in line and eventually, the people make the rumor a reality and the media gets something to talk about for a while.
That's probably not too far from the truth at least for some people. I would hope people would be better than that.I would hate to ever experience an actual shortage of gas or water. I think people would likely kill you for it.

You youngsters!
Ask your elders about OPEC and the gas lines of 1973.
We brought beers, cranked the tunes and waited an hour for 8 gallons.
Human are remarkably adaptive, even hell-like conditions become "normal" after awhile.
Dad told stories of post WW2 Germany, where coal-powered cars became a thing.
Adapt, overcome & improvise
