I was listening to the ticket this morning and foundout the Steelers are watching the Cowboys vs Seahawks game on how to contain Shaun Alexander. Word around the league is that Dallas did the best on containing him and plus they run a defense similar to the Steelers also.

Seattle watched our tape on how to contain Steve Smith too.

I'm mighty proud of that defense. :)

When those young guys get even more experience, we're going to have a scary 3-4 in Big D.

Well you can bet Seattle know this as well as anyone and they will be making adjustments as well.

But that moving, blitzing 3-4 does cause a lot of problems and Pittsburgh has been running it forever so they will likely cause a lot of problems for the Hawks.

Reminds me of our win against the Steelers in SB XXX. We really had a lot of problems against them in the 2nd half with all the movement from the front 7.

When you consider the number of playmaking young talent who will have a season under their belts, add in some more versatility in the LBs, and find a decent FS - we might well be set on defense. Henry as a FA brought a lot to the team, I thought - i would love to see him pick up next year where he left off. He and Newman give us nice balance at the CB spot - Glenn did a good job also in the nickle. If they find the chemistry, this could be a downright scary defense.

I read an article the other day where one of the defensive players for the Steelers said they have been studying the Dallas/Seattle game...

I also read an article where one of the Seattle players said that they prepared for Carolina/Steve Smith by watching the Dallas/Carolina film over and over...

Hopefully our defense continues to improve...

I don't think anyone is saying that...

It's optimism that we are heading into the right direction defensively...

Yeah I'm proud of them too, the only thing that really hampered us from going to the playoffs was the injury to Flozell Adams.

Especially true for some on our '05 schedule. See Commanders gm #1, Seattle, etc.

Im at school up at U of O, and I happen to have both those games downloaded on my computer. Funny when I showed all my Seattle fan friends what Dallas did with Newman on Smith, then they saw Trufant do it...sadly, they weren't too happy when I showed them what happens when you hit Alexander early and hard. And how poorly he did against us. Then I was reminded of how well we closed out that game.

Mike ZImmer can't run a defense though. Shutting down 3/4 teams that were left in the Conference Championship games.

maybe seattle needs to watch the video of the last time (2004) we played pittsburgh. If it hadn't been for Vinny's fumble near the 20 we would have won that game...:bang2:

That was Richie Anderson's fault, one of the few things you can't blame ole Vinny for.

If we did the best job of containing SA and Steve Smith why is everyone on Zimmer's back? Would just like to know.
