Beat me to it.......being a favorite to win the NFC East isn't saying much......at all. Know it's early but you can almost write the Commanders and Giants before the season starts.
The fact we wouldn’t be favored to win any other division in NFC doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the weakest division overall.

yeah and giants got a new HC, judge was awful.
phil did ok last season, and added a bunch of new players, only problem with them is they still are rolling with hurts.
Wash, I doubt wentz makes much of a difference, they had way more issues than qb position.

And with half the nfc making playoffs , doing that just says your top 7 in NFC.
So dallas should make playoffs.

Philly will be tricky.......they will go as far as Hurts take them. My guess is they will two things from him.......make one or two critical/impact plays per game and don't lose games ( turnovers ). Former Eagle QB Randall Cunningham said it's exactly what the late Buddy Ryan told him their starting QB. We need you to make one or two big plays a game, keep turnovers to a minimum and the D and coaches will take care of the rest.

Actually most so-called experts or power ranking put us in the top 5 of NFC........Rams, Packers, Bucs, 49ers, Cowboys or Eagles. Considering you will have 7 teams making the playoff ( three wild cards), it's not saying much. It would take nearly a complete meltdown for us to miss the playoffs with the talent we have. If we are being honest regarding Dak and postseason games, he's out of markers. He needs to take his game to another level and he can only do that with some serious postseason wins.

This isn’t really about post season success. This is just about making the playoffs. Which without Dak would be difficult.

And I’m not sold Dak is enough to take us further than Rodgers, Brady or Stafford could without the type of defense SF had.

I think we mostly agree, except I probably think Wentz is more of a wild card than you perhaps.

Taking a look at some early best bets for the Cowboys this upcoming season.

Win Total: Over/Under 10. Dallas has one huge asset heading into the regular season. It has a franchise quarterback in Prescott and a solid relationship between quarterback and coach. “He takes care of us. He builds his relationships,” the 29-year-old said of McCarthy, per The Athletic’s Jon Machota. “We have a great relationship that has continued to build.”

As long as Prescott stays healthy, the Cowboys will be in the playoff mix this season. They have too much talent across the roster to not push for the postseason in the underwhelming NFC.

Looking outside the division, the NFC’s top contenders include the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams, Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals. It would be a surprise if Dallas didn’t claim one of the seven postseason berths.

Dallas should also top its over/under of 10 wins. The Cowboys have the league’s easiest schedule (tied) in terms of opposing 2021 win percentage (.462). They’re coming off a 12-5 campaign and should again see double-digit wins in 2022.

Need to win one of the first two for this team to believe.
For the team to believe or the fans.

We should still be a playoff contender as long as Dak is healthy even if we lose our first two against what would arguably be considered better teams and QB’s.

Team... they have to know that they belong. Could care less about fans. If they find out that they can compete with those teams, sometimes it's a springboard to working even harder.

Like last year in a close loss in opener to defending champs we saw we could hang with the best and ran off 6 straight wins.

One year, and i don't know when. a Tampa, Buffalo, Green Bay, 49er, Cincy win is going to do the trick.

My bigger concern than starting 0-2 is starting 2-0. Then I think that could create SB hysteria which might be difficult to sustain.

Dak Prescott is a mediocre QB at best. It amazes me that people still try to prop him up as some great player after 5 years of watching him go nowhere.
