Dallas-NE swap per Broaddus-RUMOR

If this is true, not only are we trading back, but we're losing value.

The picks they are giving are all late in their respective rounds and the value works out like this:

Pick 9: 1,350 Pts

Pick 17: 950 Pts
Pick 60: 300 Pts
Pick 125: 47 Pts

Total: 1,297 Pts

So we're leaving Roughly 50 pts on the table, for no reason.

We should be taking Pick 92 instead of 125, which would put us in the green by 35 pts, if they really want someone at #9 so bad. I don't understand at all why we would trade down AND lose value.

Some of you need to remember something, Jerry could move back up just as easily as he could move down. Nothing is etched in stone when you are talking about the draft.

Not only that but if people see a big drop after 12 you better pay more to get into the top 12.

:bang2: Jerry probably thinks he'd be ripping them off.

This move cannot be made before seeing Peterson go off the board.

That would be ultimately stupid.

I have said this time and time again. Jerry is a great owner.

But Jerry is a buffoon as a GM and talent evaluator.

And it's not that he can even get Logan Mankins in the deal.

:laugh2:

Include pick #33 in any offer or there's no deal!
Don't say that where Jerry can hear you. "Hey, that's right. We demand picks #33 and #60."

Yeah but then you're eliminating the reason you moved down in the first place, to stockpile picks.

I mentioned this in the other thread:

Trade #9, for 17 and 60, and swap 33 for 40.

What about that? Is the value there?

I was going back through the drafts since 2000 and I think I counted more years that we didn't even have a pick in the first round then years that we did.

I can see it now. They pull off this stupid move and the war room cam shows JJ high fiving Red and everyone else around the table like they just won the Super Bowl.

I will puke.

Kroft is throwing in a screen cover for the Jumbotron. It's a worked out in the details.

Not at all. You don't give up everything you got to move down that far.

Well, the online value chart says this:

9 = 1350
40 = 500
Total 1850

17 = 950
33 = 580
60 = 300
Total 1830

So yeah, that's possible.

Give us 17 and 33. Done deal !!! I don't want 60 and a fourth. We need quality guys to step in right away not a bunch of 3-4 rd picks

And then we reach for someone like Solder and Jerry gushes about how we "got someone in our top 10 and picked up an extra pick!" :laugh2:

totally agree buddy, we gave up like 30 to 40 points when we traded with NE last year to get Dez

wake up Jerry get that 33rd with the 17th, make them pay if they want to move up, you can bet cleveland H...... GM will make them pay

Stand your ground Jerry, Pats have to give up something to get an impact player like Cam Jordan

You could do so much with that 33rd pick Jerry, which will be the 1st pick in 2nd round friday

#9: 1,350
#40: 500
Total: 1,850

#17: 950
#33: 580
#60: 300
Total: 1,830

So roughly even, certainly closer than leaving 50 pts on the table which is the equivalent of roughly a late 4th/early 5th round pick.
