a smash mouth team. They have an O-line built to maul people. They have three good rb's that bring different things to the offense. Get rid of Owens and send a message. With Williams, Witten, Austin and Crayton the receivers are fine.

Anyone notice how players like Fasano that aren't flashy can still produce. Start accumulating substance not flash.

Get rid of Pac Man that dude is duuuuumb. The defense is good enough to win a superbowl if the offense can control the clock.

Somebody needs to kick Romo in the butt and tell him to protect the ball. Too many turnovers in crucial situations.

With the 3 RB's we have, and the size of the oline, I'd say a good idea, especially if it allows Romo to settle down and learn to be a winning QB and not a 300 yard passer one week and a 4 turnover guy the next (and I love Romo).

Controlling the clock and using the big guys and the 3 very skilled and complementary RB's we have would give this team another dimension that it could build on.

Not likely to happen with all the money tied up in TO, RW the wr, and Witten, and Romo. The oline doesn't seem to run block consistently either. Last 2 seasons have been a disappointment for their size, run blocking, although TE's (at least the year before this one) and FB blocking hasn't been consistent either.

This could take pressure off Romo and the passing game though. Gotta get those Oline in shape and studying hard though.

This is the only thing that might turn next season around if dumb and dumber are still here coaching the team.

Typical Garrett thoughts : "Hmm, its 3rd and short, should I call the speed option, the pitch to TO, or the shotgun screen?"

Totally agree with the smash mouth football idea. I just don't think our oline is nasty enough to do it. Columbo may be the one with the nastiest attitude and the least talent. Bigg Davis is just that BIG. He came from Arizona (finesse football). Flozell is past his prime. I liked Holland but agin came from Denver and finesse football. And I'm just sick about Gurode.

I like our RB's -- Choice the best. Reminds me of Emmitt. Would love to see him behind a bruising FB to make cuts off of. Felix would be a great change of pace back. Give Choice 20 - 25 carries and Felix 10 to 15.
I'm afraid that with MBIII style -- he can't be a full time guy to get us through 16 to 20 games a season (20 to get to the SB if we're ever so blessed again). I think we may see a decline in MB starting next year.

Your right but I would take it a step further and get rid of Romo. If you are going to go this rout you dont need and more accurately absolutely can not have a careless QB like Romo. After the first half when we know the game was over I though Romo deserves at least one more season if not longer, after his post game comments im ready to drive him out of town myself.

Who do you replace Romo with? What about the salary ramifications?

Running game and good defense are always my favorite things to build my teams around on Madden and NCAA. :)

Honestly, with the 3 running backs you have, you could design an entire offense based on them, with some wildcat stuff in there

Imagine this. A backfield with choice lined up in the QB spot and Barber and Jones split behind him.

Choice takes the snap, can either hand it off up the middle to Barber or pitch it to Jones. Or he keeps the ball and takes it himself

That is the strength of your O. Too bad your O-coordinator is more interested in keeping TO happy, then actually running an effective offense

If you're going to go to a smashmouth scheme, Garrett has to go, TO has to go, and Romo will become a bus driver (I don't neccessarliy have a problem with that).

You need a patient coach to be a running team, someone who doesn't mind a few 3 and outs.

That is the persona you could try and inspire the team with. Instill it in 'em.

Wade, if he's a leader of men, will find some sort of catalyst for it. Changeup in the staff, stirring the bottom of the roster, even find the closest thing to a disposable star on the team and cut him or take his playing time. Use this is a catalyst for change in philosophy; Parcells-style training camp, two a days...Picture a forge, the heat of the fire shaping the blade. Then pound that philosophy into the team: unity, discpline, anger, resentment - Take a big chisel and knock a huge chip into the collective shoulder.

This team's troubles and misfortunes can fuel a huge fire, it just needs someone to put it all in place.
