Actually as regards run blocking I think the power and strength are there; I am leaning more towards the scheme NOT fitting the abilities of the players
We had plenty of power and strength when they started man blocking vs Pittsburgh.

You are the one that got off topic before I did.

Your quote:

“But people think they are so smart, clever, and funny blaming rbs.”

If you’re going to make a claim like that. You can’t ask me to not mention the RB’s stinking too.
I've seen the metrics. Rbs are at least part of the problem. Almost anyone can admit we don't have great rbs. Even if scheme and blocking suck you still need good rbs to maximize what you have.

I totally agree with most of the forum regarding Oline coach and scheme (non existent), it's also a head scratcher marching T. Steele out with the starting group. I think he wouldn't be playing in the NFL much less starting on another team. This coaching staff is totally clueless that he will be lined up on Bosa this evening and blowing up nearly every single snap.
This guy NEVER blocks anyone!!!!!
Sorry to reply to my on thread. MM at the end of game press conference:

Press: Why didn't you or staff dial up help for T. Steele knowing that he's going up against Bosa?

MM response: It just didn't occur to us.

There it is. When do see a blow up? A pancake? Wicked block? 5 yards upfield looking for someone to blast?

We dont see it....i have begged people to show it and they never do.

All we get is "rbs suck".

Correct. The two are intertwined.

Yes the OL hasn’t been good. Yes it needs to improve.

That being said, the RB’s are also NOT getting as many yards as better RB’s would with the same blocking.

Nobody is saying our rbs arent problematic. But my two photos show a serious discrepency. What line is doing their job?

Barry sanders made a career if running around in the backfield. Is that what we want? Or do we want just about any other nfl rb finding some space like in the detroit photo. Wh9 even is the detroit rb? Average joe with a line that blocks is who.

You’ll see that a bunch of cowboys RB’s are way down the list on yards after contact per attempt.

Which is one way to determine if a running back is getting extra yards beyond what is blocked.

The cowboys RB’s are also negative in their yards per rush vs expectation. Meaning the cowboys RB’s earn less yards per rush than could reasonably be expected given the blocking.

I also think the RBs lack the vision and/or the burst to take advantage of the times they do block well.

Seen a few plays where there are gaps/holes that other/better RBs could have exploited for decent gains

I've been saying it for years, the current and previous Oline coaches absolutely SUCK and have failed miserably to better instruct, teach and develop a better run and pass blocking Oline. THAT has been one of the team's biggest issues hurting this team from being able to beat the better teams.

Jerry has failed at hiring a much better Oline coach for years now. The offense goes according to how your Oline performs. Period. Football 101.

Fix the Oline (and coach), and everyone will see this offense perform better.
Jerry screwed over the last good O line coach he had.

This goes back to my point here. When you have the offensive line 5 yards up field...you get more momentum and chance mow people down or change dire tion. Detroit photo.

When the line us pushed backwards at the handoff...the rb cant get going. Dallas photo.

Thank you for helping me prove my point how critical o line blocking is.

I took the time to show they cant block well. Show us your proof they can ....and our rbs wrs too stupid and slow to run in their big holes you say they make.

Look people.....not trying to be a dick here...but lets show the evidence rather than just lip service. Just one example even. Lets talk about it.

I never argued against it Steve. I actually agreed with the importance of the OL from my first post.

Your reading comprehension just remains poor.

I have never said the line wasn't an issue. Scheme, blocking, backs, they are all problems.

If you sick at blocking them you have to have guys who can break tackles. Unfortunately this front office is clueless.

And this thread is meant to talk about o line.

I cant for the life if me figure out why people cant stay on the topic, and think everyone else is a stupid idiot if they they cant either.

I know there are other problems. I just wanted to talk about o line.

In fairness I responded to a post about rbs. I didn't bring it up, I responded. Next time I'll double check with you to make certain I'm following your rules as thread moderator.
