Here is a good article with some charts, so you can see teams that did and what the odds are of Dallas making the playoffs this year.
Also SB odds have gone from 14-1 to 60-1

It doesnt look good, and no team that started 2-4 has gone to a SB or even won the conf. champ.
Even teams that went 9-1 after the 2-4 start did not make it to SB.

Looking at this, might be the smart move to just tank the season and go for the # 1 spot in the draft.
Rest romo and dez Take it easy , do the JJ89 !

This wont happen, I am just throwing it out there as getting in playoffs and losing in wc or div round is
fun for fans but then your drafting low next year.
I think GB is going to win the nfc, and any team wanting to get to sb has to go thru GB in GB
In this article teams that start 6-0 16 of 18 since 2002 have made playoffs, and they look to have the first seed
locked up, just the falcons and carolina competing with them on that right now.
Still early , anything can happen, but GB has that x factor right now.

At 3-3 the odds go way up so this is a big game (game 6 nyg) looking at historical outcomes since 2002

If you have watched this team for long enough you should know by now that we are really good at defying the odds. I would be more worried if you told me we had a 98% chance of going to the Superbowl...

The circumstances, current division record and schedule would still leave plenty of opportunity to beat the odds here, but I rather not try to find out.

This team is good enough to win these next 2 games with the players that will be on the field. Green Bay and the Patriots are the only two teams that look dominant right now and even they are getting banged up and showing some scratches.

Thanks for the info, because that means this is absolutely a must-win game.

No team in the NFL ever won a SB after losing their first 2 games to start the season..... Until the Cowboys did it. Cowboys are still in control over their own fate and already have an edge on NY and Philly by beating them.

You ignore context.

That vast majority of teams who go 2-4 to start the season do so because they are bad teams.

We'd be going 2-4 not because we are bad, but because we've lost one of the better QBs in the league and one of the best WRs.

So already we are talking about a tiny sample of 2-4 teams who got there under similar circumstances.

People complain about statistics but really the problem is that people don't use context to interpret statistics.

You gave up before the season. Make your way to the draft zone so no one has to read your keyboard diarrhea.

Well, "must-win" is certainly subjective, is it not? Not only do we have this compelling stat, but we haven't won a game in over a month, and a loss will cost us our 1st tie-breaker with the Giants, and we lose a game in the 2nd tie-breaker. Then we get ready for Seattle. I think we need to win this game. In fact, I think we will win this game. :)

I will never understand the minset of a quitter.

I don't think the OP is a quitter, I think the point he is making is that with each loss it gets incredibly more difficult to make the playoffs.

Besides, how the hell can an observer be a quitter? Usually to "quit" something, you have to be an active participant in the event. I have never understood this logic, just totally irrational if you actually understand what the words mean.

This is why the giants game is a must win. People want to say it's not a must win, but history and the odds do mean something.
