Dallas Oline 1st-round picks since 2010

I know some don't like the Booker pick, but two things to say. First, somehow we do well drafting 1st round o-linemen. The jury is still out on Guyton (hoping for year 2 development), and Booker seems to be a solid pick. Second, if you want to rebuild the line back to a top tier unit for the future QB, you have to start now. Spending #12 on a guard that could start for 10 years is not so bad. If he doesn't pan out, sure, not good. But every pick carries risk.

They have no shoes to fill except their own. Too much of this trying to emulate or be as good as someone else, just be as good as yourself. Work hard and make your own name, just as some of these guys have done!!!

Just where are the evaluations and proof beyond All Pro right now or just numbers?

I like Booker as a player. But not with your premium top 12 pick. You can find players like Booker in the lower 2nd round.

And i dont agree that we are good at drafting OL men.

We have been during the Garrett era. But not so much afterwards. Those times of OL expertise are long gone.

Lets face it: Tyler Smith is a very good guard but was drafted with a Premium pick to be our future LT. He wasnt able to unseat an injury riddled and at the end of his career Tyron who was essentially beggin to be replaced. The player is a good find, but as a draft pick this is a bust. Waste of resources. You find good guards usually in the third round.

Now Tyler Guyton is a bust. As a draft pick and a player. This was our second try to find our future LT. Again with a premium pick. And again we crapped the bed. The guy was benched during the season for a medicore backup. Problem with Guyton is: you wont be able to use him inside. He lacks the traits for that.

Everybody can find good guards with a Premium pick. To do so is nothing to get accolades for. To have the need to use top picks again and again on the least important OL position (guard) is a sign of a bad draft and scout departement.

Oh please.....if you don't want each of these kids developing Pro-bowl or ALL-PRO status, I don't know what to tell. Tyler is right there.......just need to do it every year. It's the standard set by previous starters.

Giving up on a player after one year is a bit premature. If Guyton craps the bed next season, then it might be time to reconsider. Some players take time or better coaching. Jason Kelce was just a super athletic undersized center that was an average player his first few years. He's going to the HoF. Why? They worked with him, gave him a chance. We can give Guyton another season at the least.
