:mad:I think it sucks that a big game like this is only available on the NFL Network. Is there another way to watch or listen to this game on the internet?

Bad enough that some games are on ESPN only, now games are on a channel that are not even carried on some cable systems....

Now the NFL is forcing us to pay more money for another tier of channels...:banghead:

Buy a dish and DTV, If you call tonight they probably can have you installed by Thursday.

Cable is a long term dinosaur, limited bandwith and shotty management. I don't see any reason one would stick with cable. Not to mention that local phone companies are quitely wiring homes with fiber optics..... Verizon fios here which will blow away all programming and bandwith long term.....

NFL is in bed with DTV, and they are trying to ransom cable to pay for NFL Network.....

It's going to be a great game, I don't see Packers hanging with us....

What exactly are they forcing you to pay? $1 - $5 - $25 - $50 a monthmore? Is it worth paying to see this game?, get NFL network and more sports programming?

Or is it not offered? If so I would tend to feel more for your gripe. Sounds like you have a choice and won't pony up. I believe other cable companies are not even offering it.

I have the NFL Network through my cable company. I invited my brother over to watch the game today, and he was so excited. My town has two cable companies, and the NFL Network is available if you have cable with the utility company. I imagine other people will find a friend or a relative who has the channel. I pay more for about 20 channels, and the extra cost is not a big deal.

I believe some of the dispute is the NFL is objecting to the cable companies passing the cost of NFL Network on to the customers, as the cable companies want it to be in a "buy up" option...whereas DirecTV and Dish include it in the basic package...

if they can do it, so can the cable companies

while I do feel a little bad for those that wont get to see it, it isnt like this was just announced the other day either...the schedules came out in April, everyone has known the Cowboys-Packers and Cowboys-Panthers game are on NFL Network since then

Call your local cable company to complain.

As for the extra cost, I have digital cable and the sports tier that included the NFLN only cost $4 extra a month.

E-mail the NFL and ask them to lower their price just a little. The NFL is asking for $300 million per year plus 100% of ad revenues.

I don't understand people *****ing about two Cowboys' games not being on their local cable. I happens every year to most outside the immediate Dallas market.

People either went with Directv for the Sunday Ticket or decided that they'd spend those weekends somewhere that had the game. Now that Dallas is highly successful on the field, fewer and fewer games are not getting national coverage but for years it was a regular occurence.

It is pretty simple though. The only people who aren't getting the NFLN are those that chose not to do something to get it. Unless you're in prison, you can get the NFLN if you're willing to do the steps needed. Heck, I chose my current home over another becuase the other one, that we probably preferred didn't have a sightline to the southern sky neccessary for Directv. And for a few years I paid for a cable modem and Directv so the "I need the internet" is a weak argument, a couple splitters is all it takes.

I made the switch to Dish Network last season due to the Dallas/Atlanta game being on NFLN. No way was I going to miss a Cowboys game. And overall I've been pretty pleased with the switch.

Is this on their website somewhere? May be buried, but I didn't see it online.

Don't let the scare tactics of the cable companies keep you guys from switching to DirecTV or Dish. I switched 3 years ago and have never looked back...great decision.

Again, it comes down to not having a choice as to what channels your cable company provides. You'll get 50 channels you'll never watch once, but you pay for every single month. However, you won't get the NFL Network, which will out-do all those channels in the ratings when these games are on because cable companies think it's unfair for you to have to pay for a channel you won't watch.

Does that make anyone else's head hurt?
