I always remember Jimmy Johnson saying you need the horses upfront to be successful. It proved to be true as Dallas was dominate along OL & DL during Super Bowl run.
Fast forward to draft this year. I was convinced there would be real emphasis on adding those horses upfront. Romo signs monster deal and deserves protection more now than ever. Defensive line ravaged by age, injuries & DUI would surely be in line for face lift (no pun intended Jerry). Thought maybe 5-6 players added thru draft and UDFA. But with 1 lineman taken out of 20 players selected/signed it has occurred to me that there is just philosophical difference to how Cowboys value players. They believe the can win in the trenches with 'just enough" and instead add skill position talent across the board. As Jerry mentioned with Frederick selection " we just need him to add extra half second for Romo'. That is his philosophy - Jerry thinks Dallas is half second away from unleashing greatest show on earth II.
